They are all classic and all represent consistent theories, but tell stories of where each man was at some point in his life, even Ali and Jarobi though they don't speak. I'm going to have to say that "Midnight Marauders" was the best Tribe album in my opinion. " Instinctive Travels..." & and " Low End Theory" are a tie for second, even though the content of these two albums varies a little bit. Long live the Tribe!

@guthrielindquist1 I agree with you although I would switch 3 and 4. Low End Theory production and lyrics >> Midnight Marauders (still classic) overall. The second half of Midnight Marauders is not as good as the first half where as Low End Theory was banging from the first to the last track. I don't understand how people think MM is better than Low End Theory. MM is great man it's so fucking amazing, but better than LET? I don't think so.

Tribe called quest were more than hip hop. They pushed a much deeper sound that could'nt be locked into a simple form. Great music for anyone outside the circle of hip hop.

Midnight Mauraders gets my vote. That album was so just so good you wouldn't know you were at the end and then it would start again and it wouldn't even feel like it's repeating cause all the songs just keep sounding fresh... even to this day!

Low End Theory was the album too! I remember blasting that EVERYDAY. Dude... who didn't smile when they first heard Excursions?

I loved this group since I first heard Description of a Fool. Had their first album on tape when many didnt know them yet.

I can't pick a favorite - I listen to them all of the time. For me, the Tribe was the best group of hip hop of all time. Respect to the rest, but they were so original, so deep. They couldn't be confused with anyone else. The mix of jazz and laid back flow is just unmatched. Every song they have takes me back to a different time in my life, and it was usually a good part. great vid editing.

Personally I like Midnight Marauders the best, because I think that it was one of the best examples of Lyrical Intelligence. The production was also the best IMO. I see Electric Relaxation, Keep it Rollin', Lyrics to go, and God Lives Through as some of the best production in music history. But for people who are huge Jazz Hip Hop fans, I understand why they like LET better.

judgeing it by how i felt when the albums came out i'd say either low end or midnight leaning towards midnight. but i still remember where i was when i bought low end the day it came out put the tape in heard the first couple of seconds of excursions and almost lost my mind!!!!!! i'll never forget that. but listening to them them all now i think people's is my favorite now. i like beats alot now too though. its almost like picking your favorite kid ain't it... lol

every album can be listened too staright thru every album had a totally different sound from the last one. Low end theory and midnight maurauders compliment each other and show progression. B.R.&L progresses to love movment which was the final chapter. and P.I.T.A. T.P.O.R. (if u are a true tribe fan u know what it means) Is in a class all by it self. Then the remix album was very experimental. They are true creators. They always kept you on your toes without going too left field.

P.I.T&T.P.O.R is the best for me, because I love every song. I can listen to it and the beats & rhymes just blow my mind. It's like nothing else. But, every album from A Tribe Called Quest just has that vibe I love. There's hits throughout every album, and I cannot set myself on one in particular otherwise..

I don't know, man. I've only bothered to buy the first three records. Honestly I think all the records are great in their own right. The albums have such a unique style, never the same as the previous album. People's Instinctive Travels, The Low End Theory, and Might Marauders were all master pieces and equally hold the title of "best" in my mind.

Midnight Marauders is the first album I heard and still one of my faves in any genre. The Low End Theory just tops it though.

I totally agree on "Beats, Rhymes & Life." I think that "Crew" is one of the hardest story-based songs of betrayal I've ever heard. Hearing about the background of EPMD's breakup in the 90s, it describes one aspect of it.
