@shadyguy999 Boost ball guardian was ridiculous. I too was stuck on it for a long time. I thought I was the only one and that I was being completely incompetent about the boss XD.
Ahh the Boost Guardian was a huge pain but I think the Spider Guardian was always the one I feared fighting the most, no matter how many times I've beaten the game.
@FwamTom There was always a bit of tension for me when fighting him too. Took me a good hour when I was on the 3rd stage of the boss, mainly because my health was constantly dropping to dangerous levels and I kept screwing up the placement of when your supposed to activate the bomb slots.
When the wii version came around, he was completely laughable, due to the easier control scheme of the morph ball. xD
First time I played this game, I walked into the room, saw the machine, and just stood there for a good minute or so, realizing that I had to fight this titanic.
how many remember the time i listed all of those things that would make the quadraxis better? well i thoght of some new things: all affinity weapons(volt driver, battle hammer, magmaul, judicator, shock coil, and impirialist) and the ultamate weapon, which i will reveal soon enough
not gonna lie though, this was an epic and badass fight and even though the annihilator beam kind of breaks the game combat-wise, I felt like I deserved it.
I remember when I first opened the door to the Dark Sanctuary room with Quadraxis. I knew the second the door opened that it would be the boss...and I had to talk myself into going in at first...and even though I knew the game was going to make me fight it, it still couldn't keep me from pissing myself when it started moving and that Camera perspective made me feel so tiny compared to him D:
I really like the clanking in the music. It needs to be in more games that have these kind of robotic bosses or like big badass bosses that use maybe like chains that make that noise.
I got my Gamecube in 2004. I got my Wii in 2007. The Wii broke down after about 3 years. My Gamecube has not had ANY errors with its discs. It works as if it were new.
same bro, i got my gamecube in 2001, it still runs Melee fine. However I got an xbox in 2002, had to get a second. In 2007 gotta a 360, its 2011 this is my fourth 360. o.0
the thing is, people don't get how overpowered Quadraxis is.
his main weapon is a Matter/Antimatter Anihillation cannon.
2 grams of Matter/Antimatter Anihilation corresponds to about double that of 20 Kilotonnes of TNT (in other words double the power of the Hiroshima Bomb)
and Quadraxis can rapid fire that shit
and charge it to make it even more powerfull.
(tl;dr: one of Quadraxis' shots is twice as powerfull as a nuclear bomb)
the Planet Zebes has a gravitational pull of 865.5G
for comparisons sake the Sun only has a Gravitational pull of 25G.
Theoretically if Samus was on Earth she could leap out of the atmosphere and cause minor earthquakes by punching the ground!
not only that but she has Weaponry that messes up physics such as the Ice Beam and Sonic Boom (which causes the walls of reality to look like a glass spider web!)
@idiotscampaigninc i have a short question: where do you have the zebes data from? A Gravitational pull of 865G would mean that Samus isn't broken. It would mean that... sorry, there are no words to describe this^^
And that thing with the strength of Quadraxis Annihilator Cannon is logical, too. But there is one problem: If the Metroid physics are equal with our physics, there is no way this matter/antimatter package could pass the dark aether without reacting with other matter/antimatter.
the Zebes data is obtained from the Observatory room in Metroid prime, we can do calculations to find Gravitational pull from the Statistics there. it is one of Retro Studio's little known Physics fails.
also to adress the Annihilator beam, we should assume that the physics of the Metroid Universe work the same way as ours however we should not assume that the more Enlightened races (Chozo, Lunimoth ect) don't have a better understanding of how it works.
no worries dude, the English was fine, in fact you have better grammar than half the English speaking people here on Youtube.
one problem we find when looking at Metroid Canon is just how powerful it actually is. if you care to look up the Volt Driver you'll find that it's a Multi-Terrawatt weapon.
i forget the exact ammounts but one shot from a Metroid handheld weapon has enough energy to power the entire world for 3 months.
This is insane. If one shot provides enough energy to power the world for 3 months, than whats up with the native species on the planets that Samus visits?
They survive between 2 and 4 shots of this weapons. So that means they survive an energy package which could provide earth for 6 to 12 months... This is insane!
@idiotscampaigninc Wait, really? Holy shit rofl. Yeah, I could see that. Matter and Antimatter is supposed to super powerful... XD And the fact that Samus can casually tank these attacks says something. I guess it helps that I think Samus' power bombs are supposed to be as strong as Tactical nukes. But yeah, for obvious gameplay reasons, Power Bombs and Quadraxis' Matter/Antimatter attacks don't blow everything up. :P

@Blacaca180 i actually had little difficulty taking on the chykka. quadraxis, on the other hand, was near-death. but i beat him on my first try. imagine it was quadraxis instead of scarabs in halo?....my mind is blown.
you never have to touch the poison water or gasses until you get the light suit. There is one point where you have to touch the gas, but it can be navigated quickly enough to survive.
@supernintendoman97 Absolutely not. Hackers are cheaters. Fighting Amorbis (which requires you to pick up the darksuit) is not necessary. Once you get all the items, just leave and head for Torvus Bog. It's a different kind of difficulty. The boost guardian is especially hard, but doable.
Holy crap. I never knew the boss music for this fight was so epic. I was concentrating so hard on fighting quadraxis that I never noticed the awesome music. This guy can be a bit difficult on hard mode when you fight him the proper, honorable way. Or you can be a cheap Mo-Fo like me and power bomb his legs all at once. Lol.
When you defeat it, Samus makes sure to do a sweet action pose as she lands and the head module crashes, which she never did for any other boss, even Ridley.
This guy was a complete pain in the ass... I believe nothing else in the game managed to damage me as much as Quadraxis. But it was the most awesome battle ever.
I have always loved metroid prime's soundtracks (1,2,3) because they always include pieces of older songs in them that make the newer song better for it. You can hear the little whining from the chozo ruins theme starting at 1:00 and you can also hear part of the parasite queen's theme just at 1:18. An amazingly simplistic beat with the addition of the pieces from the first game really boost this theme for Quadraxis.
the second you look through that door you know you are in for a serious battle, but once you see that thing start moving its almost jaw-dropping. and this theme is so awesome too. its like...the god of machines
Haha that room, I knew something bad was gonna happen when something so big is just sleeping in there. When i got down by the elevator I tried to go along the walls to not trigger it... suddenly I was like "Oh crap".
When I got here, I thought "I guess I'm gonna have to spider ball up that building, bomb to get inside, and take the prize." Then, it woke up, and I thought "Well, this looks hard. You must get Annihilator Beam from it."
I love Quadraxis. He's my favorite boss of all time. I love the phases it goes through, it takes a long time to kill, it's always a nice challenge, and the atmosphere is great. But the the annihilator beam is anticlimactic .__.
this is probably one oof the hardest bosses iv'e ever fought besides General RAAM from Gears, reason being is that in the end i killed it but i died from the hp drainage

Anything hi-techy; I love. I pretty much filled up my pants at 1:18.

If there is a God of Machines, this is probably his theme.

the second you look through that door you know you are in for a serious battle, but once you see that thing start moving its almost jaw-dropping. and this theme is so awesome too. its like...the god of machines

Haha that room, I knew something bad was gonna happen when something so big is just sleeping in there. When i got down by the elevator I tried to go along the walls to not trigger it... suddenly I was like "Oh crap".

I played this when i was a kid... And when i saw this thing...
I fucking SCREAMED and turned off the gamecube.

Too bad you have to beat the Spider Guardian to get to this guy.
That battle was pretty much impossible. (In the original version, at least)

Chuck Norris wanted a theme, so he Hired Retro Studio. Then he realized, he didn't need one, so he gave their music to the Quadraxis

I dont know why but I find the robotic sounds at 00:04 - 00:16 sexy

@OrangeGingerSpice because the amount of bass shoved into this magical sound just makes ones ears cum

When I got here, I thought "I guess I'm gonna have to spider ball up that building, bomb to get inside, and take the prize." Then, it woke up, and I thought "Well, this looks hard. You must get Annihilator Beam from it."

is it ok if i make an imaginational empire based off of mechs and having this quadraxis being my inspiration?
KittyDestroyer555 6 months ago
@KittyDestroyer555 That's the power of imagination, bud. It's what great games like Metroid help to catalyze.

Quadraxis is the absolute greatest boss in Echos. I had a save file on my Gamecube (later Wii) JUST for facing him.

I love Quadraxis. He's my favorite boss of all time. I love the phases it goes through, it takes a long time to kill, it's always a nice challenge, and the atmosphere is great. But the the annihilator beam is anticlimactic .__.
evilanimemonkey 6 months ago
this is probably one oof the hardest bosses iv'e ever fought besides General RAAM from Gears, reason being is that in the end i killed it but i died from the hp drainage
