The oboist is Albrecht Mayer. The Principle oboist for the Berliner Philharmonic. He's a world renowned musician, not just "very good" anything. The other musicians are also top notch, otherwise they wouldn't have been chosen to share the same general area as Mr. Mayer. Google him, and you'd see he's recorded solo albums, as well as albums with other well recognized orchestras, (ever heard of The Academy of St. Martin In the Fields?). We'll indulge his desire to "conduct the continuo".
the english horn player is a very good one and probably talented with very good musical ideas, he should avoid to conduct the continuo (only two players) it's a little bit ridicolous.......the more he should study a little bit "conducting": his gesture unfortunately is not precise and for an orchestral player means nothing
