my 4 year old granddaughter was shaken by her biological father when she was a couple months old. She had several of her ribs broken plus a broken femur bone. Retinal bleeding and 3 brain hemorages. She continues to have occupational therapy and sees a behaviorist but is doing amazing. She is a miracle. Please never shake a baby. We have adopted her.

Sometimes you do everything you can think of (change, feed, rock, burp) to make the baby stop crying, but the baby screams anyway. It can make anyone frustrated and angry. At that point you should just put the baby in the crib, and walk away. Go somewhere you can't hear or see the baby. Outside, or with the TV and radio on. The baby will keep on crying. But crying doesn't hurt a baby. Let him/her cry for 15 minutes at a time. Crying wears the little one out. It will go to sleep sooner or later.
@BeefyRalph i wouldnt say go outside because you should NEVER leave a baby unattended unless u bring a monitor with you just to turn it on every 10 seconds to see if its ok but thats what i do when my daughter cries non stop i put her in her crib close her door and go watch tv then even if shes still crying after 5-10 minutes i go and pick her up and hush her then shes A-OK and i take a few deep breaths feels really good too shes only 8 months old shes a real cutie pie

I have had baby shaken syndrome when I was 19 days old. I wasn't suppose to hear, walk, talk, see, I can do all those.. Except I have seizures due to the head injury, but thank GOD I have been seizure free for 1 year and six months, and thank GOD that I lived through it as well
A friend of mine just lost a sweet baby boy, just 3 years old to SBS on 06/10/2010. May everyone become aware the tragic outcome of shaking a child. We were by his side to have to watch what a horrific thing this is. My heart breaks for anyone who has to go through something as tragic as this.

I'm a counselor that works at a prison. I teach a class on shaken baby syndrome to inmates. The inmates say the worst part of the whole crime is not the sentence but the fact that they have to wake up every day and see the hands that killed their child. With a moment of losing their temper they kill their child. ANYONE can shake a baby. Intercranial bleeding, blindness, edema, braindeath, stroke. Please protect innocent lives! How can anyone shake an infant, let alone your own child? I could NEVER imagine taking an agrresive approach to dealing with my 6 month old daughter. I am not trying to excuse the animals who shook these babies. But caring for children, either as a parent or daycare worker, can be frustrating. There has to be some resources that can be made available, for these people to vent their frustrations. Maybe it would save the lives of more innocent children.
i am one of the lucky ones. i was severely shaken when i was 5 months old by my bio father. i suffered retinal hemorrhaging, severe bruising, and a subdural hematoma. he shook me 'til i passed out and then threw me into my crib. i was put into foster care after that, and if it werent for my (then) foster mom, (now mom) i would be dead. the pressure in my head was so great i would of died within 24-48hrs (a month or so after being shaken.) i'm almost 21 years old now.

Doctors refuse to do this. They assign blame based on the symptoms and don't test for other causes. Why? --because the terrible truth is that there are other causes of the same symptoms they don't want known.

Ever since I started walking I would be at daycare and when a baby dropped his or her bottle/binky I would run/crawl over there and pick it up and give it back. I was in tears at the starting of this film. I am a babysitter myself, caring for a lot of young babies. I heard about Kaleb but never heard of these other sweet angels. what really got to me is Christina M. Seifert. She became an angel as I was celebrating my 15 birthday and as unbeknown to me, I was getting a new cousin. my sympathy goes out to these families

I just had my second daughter, she is 1 week old today and I also have a 7 yr old daughter and I would NEVER shake my babies. This video is so sad but its reality and it makes me sick!!!! These people who do this shit need to be shaken severly until their heads explode!!!!!!!!.......This is why I will never leave my kids with anyone I dont know. My family is not sick, and would never do this.

I absolutely am keeping each & everyoneof the mothers & poor little babies in my prayers!! This is so sad & horrible!! No one should never ever shake a baby!! I have 3 kids myself & my youngest is only 14 months old & I think about these things everyday!! I sit & worry myself constantly about this because u can not trust anyone around ur kids these days!! My kids are my world & if something would happen to them I wouldn't know what I would do!! Once again I am always keeping u all in my prayers!

I have had baby shaken syndrome when I was 19 days old. I wasn't suppose to hear, walk, talk, see, I can do all those.. Except I have seizures due to the head injury, but thank GOD I have been seizure free for 1 year and six months, and thank GOD that I lived through it as well

A friend of mine just lost a sweet baby boy, just 3 years old to SBS on 06/10/2010. May everyone become aware the tragic outcome of shaking a child. We were by his side to have to watch what a horrific thing this is. My heart breaks for anyone who has to go through something as tragic as this.

I am not a 'child-friendly' person at all. I have no children of my own, nor do I intend to. My response to babies has always been a very negative one, I can't stand hearing them cry or dealing with them at all.
HOWEVER...
The absolute LAST thing I would ever do is shake, hit or harm a child in any way, and if I saw it happen, I would probably thrash the perpetrator to within an inch of their lives.

Dont forget that the supposedly life saving vaccines given to babies also cause the same symptoms. When vaccines cause the symptoms, their are at least two victoms. The one accused and the baby. How many accused and jailed of SBS are actually guilty?

I'm a counselor that works at a prison. I teach a class on shaken baby syndrome to inmates. The inmates say the worst part of the whole crime is not the sentence but the fact that they have to wake up every day and see the hands that killed their child. With a moment of losing their temper they kill their child. ANYONE can shake a baby. Intercranial bleeding, blindness, edema, braindeath, stroke. Please protect innocent lives! The victims are the child and the family and friends of the child

How can anyone shake an infant, let alone your own child? I could NEVER imagine taking an agrresive approach to dealing with my 6 month old daughter. Yes, it gets frustrating sometimes, but thats when you put the child down, walk away for a few minutes to calm down, and then deal with it. What is wrong with people?

I had shaken baby syndrome and they told me I wouldn't think or walk "normally" I am walking fine and am a straight A student. I almost died..but am glad I am alive today..I just don't like the fact many others need to go through this. It's horrible.

It's amazing how ALL these babies on this video, not one was abused baby was because of the mothers doing it. It breaks my heart to see babies like this. The first time I ever saw a SBS child, I was crying for 2 days. These people beating these babies to death need to be dead and put into the ground without a second thought. SBS doesn't exist, BS! I am not trying to excuse the animals who shook these babies. But caring for children, either as a parent or daycare worker, can be frustrating. There has to be some resources that can be made available, for these people to vent their frustrations. Maybe it would save the lives of more innocent children.

i am one of the lucky ones. i was severely shaken when i was 5 months old by my bio father. i suffered retinal hemorrhaging, severe bruising, and a subdural hematoma. he shook me 'til i passed out and then threw me into my crib. i was put into foster care after that, and if it werent for my (then) foster mom, (now mom) i would be dead. the pressure in my head was so great i would of died within 24-48hrs (a month or so after being shaken.) i'm almost 21 years old now.

Those poor babies....No offense-I am thrilled to death that those children survived- But you showed the majority of the dead babies as girls and the majority of the survivors as boys. I am still thrilled to death that those children survived. And I'm going to guess that the Angel Date is the umm, er, death date? Well...it fits perfectly. It's odd how I went to jail for a longer period of time because I refused to pay the government the 9,000 dollars I owe them because of a pending court case but these sick pieces of shit can shake a baby to death and get a slap on the wrist? According to the Clinical Manual for EMERGENCY PEDIATRICS, it's supposed to work like this. Take the history. If it doesn't match the severity of the symptoms, assume the possibility of abuse. To prove abuse, do differential diagnosis--testing for other causes to eliminate them.
Doctors refuse to do this. They assign blame based on the symptoms and don't test for other causes. Why? --because the terrible truth is that there are other causes of the same symptoms they don't want known.

This is so sad. I just turned 13 and I love babies. Ever since I started walking I would be at daycare and when a baby dropped his or her bottle/binky I would run/crawl over there and pick it up and give it back. I here lots of stories about me and them lil babies. Ive always have had a thing for them. This really upsets me thatanyone would do this to a precious little angel. I mean there is alot of other ways to handle a babies cry. BASTARDS!

This video is to embrace those who stand up for whats right and for those who respect those who have been lost, not to point something out that obviously hurts a lot of people. So, carry your ass somewhere else...And the lip service comment?Seriously? Are you just trying to upset people? Sounds like you need to rethink your life. Think about others before yourself.

OK...wow, this video is meant to raise awareness for Shaken Baby Syndrome, for some reason not many people know it is dangerous to shake a baby. While I agree abortion is wrong, that is not the point of the video. There are videos out there raising awareness against abortions, I have seen them. I think abortion is a form of child abuse...resulting in death, and I am offened by the line "lip service to the...." because I have spoken up against it, just as I do for SBS!!!

wow. That is the horrible reality of SBS and I am only 12 and I, myself, could have done that on pure accident and killed one of the beautiful gifts that god has sent down to us. This simple video made me realize, even a father or caregiver could ruin or end someone's beautiful life. God Bless to any of the parents who had to go through this horrible thing that one person could do. Never shake a baby :)

I was in tears at the starting of this film. I am a babysitter myself, caring for a lot of young babies. I heard about Kaleb but never heard of these other sweet angels. what really got to me is Christina M. Seifert. She became an angel as I was celebrating my 15 birthday and as unbeknown to me, I was getting a new cousin. my sympathy goes out to these families

I have just watched this video and it has really got to me because I have 2 little one's myself and I would hate to think what all of the parents must be going through.
I am really sorry to all the parents who have lost there children because of someone else's action's. I would love to be able to help you all and to get people to realise there is a such thing as SBS. My deepest sympathy goes to all of the families.

if the baby is screaming or crying and you can't take it...put the baby in a crib or pack n play and WALK AWAY. crying never hurt a baby....shaking can!!!! go outside and calm down till you can handle the situation...never lose your cool. control your emotions....these children didn't have to die. so stupid.
