Dude, I said "almost none". Hong Kong wasn't even much of a city during the Ming. And what's the size of that as compared to Manchuria, Mongolia, Tibet, and even parts of Siberita during the Qing? Besides, it's not as if the Ming "opened up" to foreign ideas any more than the Qing had during both of their decline. However, the Qing did provide emperor kangxi and yongzheng, some of the best emperors in Chinese history, giving the people a breadth of fresh air after the corruption of the Ming.

I say it's unlikely China would be better off if the Ming prevailed. Though the Qing lost much of its territories, almost none of it was a part of the Ming dynasty anyways. The Qing merely lost what they expanded upon. By the time of the Qing, the Ming was completely corrupt while the Qing was at full bloom. True, by the Opium Wars the Qing was just as corrupt as the Ming, but most Chinese dynasties would become hopelessly corrupt by about 300 yrs.
