I just started bikram yoga, and it's really tough and pretty satisfying. he does seem kinda full of crap but I think for anyone to franchise something like this they have to be good with the gab.
I have been with Bikram almost 26 years and have seen so many people recover from so many different injuries and illnesses.I do not understand why people who profess to be yogis spend their time trashing another person. I am speaking to Ted Grand and to Brian 71074 who I believe owns a school in San Francisco and cannot help but trash Bikram all the time. Can you both please stop? You owe your yoga careers to Bikram. Do not spin it any other way. I think this interview was great!
@maryjarvisyoga Mary this Brian you mentioned from San Francisco. Brian71074 is not me and doesn't represent me, my teachers or my yoga in anyway shape or form. Contrary to popular belief I actually have lots of respect for Bikram. I agree cool interview.
Thank you so much for saying this. I wholeheartedly agree with you. People should leave mr. Bikram alone. Bikram series are brilliant. I was able to transform my body and mind. This tells me something...
....and there are MANY injuries, conditions, postural/structural deviations etc of which this series (or any series designed for general public) is not correct, and even detrimental for. the 'penicillin' remark is laughable. this man needs to learn anatomy and biomechanics, and see some people with serious challenges. not his shattered patella 'miracle', or the typical, simple musculoskeletal imbalances of most of the people who just don't know how to customize a series for theirselves
sure, his 26 asana sequence is excellent as a general routine for most of the public at large, but it is simply taken from the Bishu Gosh lineage. i have created an even better 30 sequence. if three of my asanas are in the same sequence as three of his; he can sue me?!? absurd, much of the order of his practice is in exact order sequence to the classic 84 series. is it 'too bad' the early practicioners aren't around today to sue him? he needs to be challenged intelligently for all his rap
He has not broken any weightlifting record. He is a liar... he wants to commercialize yoga for making money. you can't sell an art that binds body, mind and soul.
why can't you sell an art that binds body, mind and soul. Millions of people are approaching yoga, enjoy it and are improving themselves....you should see this, its that obvious.
or any running record. there is TOO much to even acknowledge here. scary how his aggressive demeanor is all it takes for people to follow him like the pied piper.
I love bikram soooooooooo much !!

Its true, he is full of BS. He claims he broke world records in weightlifting-total rubbish. Everything he says should be taken with a pinch of salt.

He has no time to say "hello" to me?
I didn't realize how valuable his time was and how much mine didn't matter! Good to know!
