  • 2:15 that fake one up is an evil placement.

  • references:

    1:24 Megaman 2 Dr Wily's Castle.

    1:42 Megaman 2 Heatman.

    2:15 Megaman 1 Dr Wily's Castle.

  • 2:17 Reference to Megaman 1 doctor Wily's castle.

  • my highscore is 950. it took 4 hours and isn't even a great record. I stopped two times for a pizza break. almost as delicious as mega man 9.

  • Bro, you got some skilzz

  • Halo's Firefight has nothing on this hehe.

  • I love how the references to the first wily level from mega man 1, and the heat man dissapearing block puzzle.

  • 1:24 Megaman 2's Wily stage 3? WTF PARADOX?

  • Sooooo MAAANNYYY MM2 REFERENCES

  • I saw a ton of references to other games. Wily stage 1 from MM1, Part of Heat Man's stage, Wily stage 2/3 (i forget) from MM2, etc.

  • @uscdrew1 damn right. they ripped themselves off!

  • 1:29 o.o megaman 2 wily's castle?

  • @Camposkpo yea and right after or right before was heatmans disappearing blocks section

  • i gotta hand it to Capcom for having the balls to release a modern day 8 bit game.

hopefully more companies realize the original NES will never die.

    this game kicks ass.

  • Incredible music.

  • MM2: Heat man bllock puzzle,Wily stage 2

    MM1:Wily stage 1

  • lol, that met nearly kicked your ass

  • the endlless ranking number one is 99999

  • The player who achieved that admitted he hacked the score.

  • I wonder if its possible tho

  • It's not a ripoff if it's made by the original company.

  • yes i know that, but they still some of them look like the megaman 2 stage areas

  • OMG at 2:02

    Capcom can be really evil!

  • YEAH!! That's a reeaallyy annoying enemy

  • I was laughing so hard at that part because I thought it really was an extra life. In fact, I'm pretty sure in Heat Man's level, there is an extra life there.

Capcom was so cruel with that one!

  • I wonder what happens on the endless stage if you should go through all 8 of the robot bosses-es?!Do you get the Wily castle bosses?!

  • Nope, they cycle back through, though you take one additional damage from every enemy. So if you looped through 28 times, you'd be guaranteed to die from any hit.

  • 1:44 SO MANY NIGHTMARE FLASHED BACK TO ME. I hate floating blocks; so much!!

  • hmm if theres a mega man game for wii maybe he will be in next smash bros

  • yeah maybe i hope so but i don't think him being on the wii is enough, if I'm correct Snake hasn't made a Nintendo appearance since it's original Nintendo games and he ended up on smash bros. I'm sure megaman being in smash bros has crossed the development team's minds before and most likely there is another reason why he isn't in smash bros perhaps capcom doesn't feel like they will benefit or something. Anyway I'm only speculating.

  • There was that MGS1 remake for the Gamecube The Twin Snakes, but the real reason why Snake was in Brawl was that Kojima personally asked Sakurai to put him in.

And I remember Inafune saying in an interview some months before Brawl's release that he wouldn't mind Mega Man being in the game, but he expected Nintendo to contact him about putting Mega Man in the game and not vice versa.

  • eeeh, all the old megaman games where for the nintedo (nes) I dont know why this game should make him be in brawl, but who knows

  • if they do that, I pray its the 8-bit, just so game and watch wasnt the only 2D, and because nothing beats the 9-bit megaman

  • nice job :D

  • I died on that same spot on one of my runs

  • 2:20

    MM1 Wily Stage 1

    1:24

    MM2 Wily Stage 3

    1:57

    MM2 Heatman

  • But the Heatman stage has a REAL 1-up, so I guess that's an easy enough mistake to make.

  • i know it says endless, but does it ever end?

  • The stages repeat, but they get harder each time. As in, you'll receive more damage from attacks.

  • hahahaha all parts are for megaman's games... the part with the spikes in megaman 2: wily's castle, the squares part in megaman 2: heatman stage, later of megaman 1:wily's castle (where use the trident, originaly use the gustman power haha) etc etc...

    Great idea!! Nostalgic

  • the part with water and the spikes is of megaman 2!!

    EASTER EGG!!!!!! |o|

  • 1:57 HEATMAN EPIC

  • I like how they put in sections of older levels in here.

  • cool and awesome!!!!

  • Love the music

  • great job on getting 1st place on the network

  • could i download this game somewhere or do you have to play it on Wii ?

  • Virtual console

  • okey, i've already completed this game now, on 360 :D it was really enjoyable but they could've added sliding and charge buster ! otherwise great ! just like the good ol' megaman =]

  • The sliding and charge buster are DLC. Buy Protoman for these. I don't recommend it though, Proto Man's game is harder because he takes more damage even with the shield blocking. Plus no shop or screws.

  • DLC?

  • Downloadable content. You pay extra money for more content. The Endless Stage feature is DLC. On the Wii version, theres a selection on the menu called Downloadable Content. Not sure if its the same for 360.

  • okey.well, thats how it is

  • When I first played, I thought the same thing. But then, as I played, I realized that the more simpler gameplay actually worked better. I found that I rarely missed the slide, and I didn't miss the charging at all. (I was really surprised.) I really didn't think I'd like the fact that you could only jump and shoot - as it was sometimes hellish in MM1 and MM2 - but here, it just worked really really well. Most of that is due to the excellent level design and the enemies.

  • Okey nice work ! i love megaman by the way. I've finished all the ones on Nes, Snes and almost all on Psx.

  • wrong wii ware XBLA or PSN

  • I saw Wily Castle 1 from the first Megaman.

  • Wow your firing the mega buster fast O.O!

  • You learn pretty quickly I would say :)

  • Love the music in this mode

  • Correct me if I am wrong I have never played megaman 1-9 be4, but 3:10 looks like pandora from Megaman ZX and advent.

  • Splash Woman and Pandora do sorta look alike... but they aren't the same :p

  • The water bit near the start is an exact copy of part of Skull Castle from megaman 2!

  • they copy a lot of old games level designs for this, i think its awesome!

theres the disapearing tile spot from mega man 2 in heat mans stage.

  • I like how they put the fake 1-Up at the end in order to trick the old MM2 players.

  • That place where you died: That part pisses me off to no extent and I think I've only passed that particular area twice on about 9000 tries so far.

  • If you can't shoot the scissors fast enough, just use the Jewl S. If you still fall, pause and use a concrete shot on the wall before your invincibility wears off.

  • Here's how you can avoid it: First, when you fail into the spikes, you'll have a few invinsibility frames, so pull out the R. Coil and jump right up before the spikes kill you.

  • so does those stages create by randomly or are they always the same?

  • The order is picked randomly from each teleporter. After a few dozen of your first runs you'll see some of the same rooms. If you happen to get as far as beating every room and every RM, you'll start to receive more damage per hit and such.

  • When I saw that room with the block puzzle, I knew in an instant it was Heat Man, and when I saw the extra life, I knew it was a fake, yet we all have hope, and may fall for it.

  • This is the most damn frustrating mode ever!

  • @2:09 those fake free lives are mean!

  • Many of the screens are parts of stages from past Megaman games. ^.^

  • The fken cover is so fucken hilarious!!!!Mega man is a fken man.I thought it was a boi.

  • I want this song..

  • I love how they put in classic Mega Man references! There's the stage with the long disappearing block sequence from MM2 and one from MM1 that resembles Wily's Castle Stage 1's first screen!

  • and drop down spikes under water from megaman 2 wily 3

  • Interesting concept, a stage that never ends. They should've had it so that sweet Country music is playing while you play the stage. That would make thing more interesting.

  • Country music sucks.

  • You're the greatest!!!

  • Endless stage has best mm9 music :)

  • Nice! I only got to 19 screens on my first try. You kinda have to get a bit lucky with the maps you run into though.

Also what do you use to record from your tv like this? DVD/Hard drive recorder?

  • I used a really old TV Tuner card that I found laying around my dad's work. Your better off searching Google if your looking to buy one... the picture quality on this one is horrible, but its hard to tell with the 8-bit graphics ;p

  • Thanks. It will be easier to find now when I know what to look for. =)

  • Freaking Awesome!!!

It looks that Megaman 9 its gonna give me more and more pain!!!

(Trying to cut his veins with the Wiimote)

    I... need... WII POINTS!!!

    I... need... ENDLESS-PROTOMAN!!!

And... I... will... need... SPECIAL STAGE-HERO-SUPERHERO MODE!!!

Hurt me more!!! MORE!!! Until I fell truly alive!!!

    (Collapses from Madness)

  • doubt this is a 'first run' he anticipated 2 of the spikes on the bottom left as he left the water area.

  • it's a recreation of a screen in megaman 2

  • Rofl

  • @Rezendes thats cos its the screem from mm2 wily stage 2

  • This is a very fun mode! I was once 5th with about 150 or so, then later 8th with over 350. Now both look pathetic compared to the current rankings, but I still love it!

  • Wow, you got 3 nostalgia blasts right in a row!

Dr Wily Stage 3 from MM2, Heat Man's stage from MM2, and Dr Wily Stage 1 from MM1. SWEET!

  • Hey, that's me at #5~

Of course, I'm not even on the board now, but such is life :D.

    Great vid!!

  • Oh wow, that was a cheap death, good job though. I thought you wouldn't make it through the part with the Rush jet.

  • I didn't think it was really cheap... I saw it coming, and I could have saved myself with the Concrete Shot...

  • This looks so cool, I'm so getting this tomorrow! I wonder how it can be endless when each room is unique. Does it just start over when you finish everything and you try to do it again?

As for this Donkey Kong Country debate, I think there's some confusion. As far as I know, there are no 32-bit games on an SNES cartridge, because wasn't something that could be done.

Donkey Kong Country was a 16-bit game on a 32-megabit cartridge.

I think that's where this 32-bit confusion is coming in.

  • I had my doubts about downloading this, I only wanted Proto Man, but after watching this video I'm so downloading it!

  • Oh man those scissors got me too.

I think the top place is almost a 1000 now.

  • I recorded this about the second it got put on DLC... I don't expect to get back into the top 10 for a long time >_>''

  • Oh man I have to get this.

  • lol, i died at the same place he did.

  • 2:02 - Hahaha, serves you right for cheating! :P

  • On my first try, I felt like the jet would be safer, but now I tend to die when I use the jet because those blocks that are really low push me off. I tend to do the "fair" way now. I have a video of me doing it without but.. its not really interesting.

  • It's like a time machine of death... how much is it?

  • 300 points on wii the most

  • Holy crap, a remake of Heat Man's stage's insane part. How godly.

  • Wily Fortress 1 is also in this video. I also think that ice part at the beginning is Ice Man's.. but I'd have to check.

  • I love the homages to old Games I saw the MM1 Wily castle there

  • Hahaha... Oh my GOD! I freakin' LOL'D at the Heat Man part SO hard with the extra life... Wow, go Capcom, you sadistic bastards.

  • Damn, now THAT was a cheap death!

Ugh, if only I had the Wii Points for both Mega Man 9 and it's extras... T_T

  • Not really a cheap death. Had he just shot a single bullet straight when landing on the last bit of platform he did before falling into spikes... he wouldn't have been hit.

  • That music is awesome.

  • I like how so many of those rooms are based on past Mega Man screens.

  • MM1-3 isn't compareable to 9, but I think its a lot more memorable than some of the other classic series games (JUMP JUMP SLIDE SLIDE).

I could care less about competing online, I just want more replay value. I don't mind spending 300 points since I have some odd number of points left over that I can't use on VC games.

  • Actually, the level design and music composition is definitely in league with the first three, and no, the stuff you can buy separately is totally optional.

  • Just because it's optional doesn't mean it's still not part of game.

In my day when Dinosaurs roamed the earth, when you beat the game, it unlocked things and you didn't have to go back to the store and buy an add-on to get everything.

That and online functions have marred gaming because it just there to crush the egos of the many, and fed to the egos of the few.

It's a mid tier game, but the DLC and forcing you to play against the world is unforgivable.

  • You realize, in those days, a megaman game was also 40-50 bucks depending on where you got it. This game costs 10... 9 dollars downloadable content isn't entirely unreasonable.

  • Not to mention that $40-50 back then is more like $80-90 now. :P

  • Again, I mainly got it to get rid of some spare points. But I think some of the DLC is rather quick buck to Capcom (Pay extra money for a harder difficulty?....what?)

  • Well if I want nostalgia, I'll buy another game on the virtual console or break out my NES.

I was wondering if someone would mention that games like Donkey Kong Country were $80, but the reason was because they were cutting edge at the time. 32-bit in the cartage itself, hot damn!

But you got it upfront and didn't have to pay out for the rest of it later.

  • Donkey Kong wasn't 32bit.

  • The graphics were pre-rendered 3d models, like Super Mario RPG and Killer Instinct. Probably amazing at the time... but not 32 bit.

  • Ahhh, to be young. If you owned the game, you'd know they had the cartridges themselves be 32 bit

  • Do you even know what "bit" means?

  • Enough to know graphics used couldn't have been 16 bit, or even 24 bit. (Mode 7)

Regardless, don't take my word for it, look it up yourself. *Click*

  • So...you don't know what bit is.

  • Well if I recall, it's a binary digit used to form code or storage (If it's a byte)

Also Donkey Kong Country was a 32 bit game due to the cartage being 32 meabit. I watched my old Donkey Kong Country Nintendo Power Video.

  • The cartridge was 32-megabit but I think the game itself was 16-bit. I'm curious about this Nintendo Power video, is there a way you could upload it?

  • That was meant to be a reply to another post...

  • The 1-Up OF DEATH.

  • Pfft. It didn't kill me. It was the unexpecated scissors.

  • Thinking about adding annotations about which stage and such. That is, if you guys know all the stages >_>''

  • Annotations would actually be pretty cool...especially if you do subsequent runs of the Endless mode.

  • Thanks!

  • awesome!

and... owned! XD, gotta love this game!!
