thats because the kite in the vid is a depower kite

put it this way. a depower kite fuly powered is = too a 3 - 5m fixed bridle foil

the par has a cord running through it with that cord attached to the main lines.

when the bar is fully out(away from u) its depowered to a mininum.

when its fully pulled in its fully powerd up.

so u can controll the pwoer of a great wind range with just 1 kite.

people mainly use them for landboarding though.

for kitesurfing ppl use lei's or peter lynns egendery arc's.

there also depowerable aswel

@Davelea360 hey i figured it out some time back. i got a 5mtr kite and it works normally. getting better. just need some nice winds to lift me.

carve from straight to maybe 30 degrees so wind is kind of on your back. then you want to lean back agaist the wind and pull on the kite. you need at least 3m kite to jump. but i learned on a 2m. cant jump but you go fast when its windy. good luck

first of all you would need a kite with some lift, i have a 3.5 with a little lift, usuay not enough to get me up (95kg) and a 5.7 waterfoil (huge lift) with which I've jumped about 8 m high! (8bft).

this kite has probably about the same lift i think

davelea im 15 and you will struggle to get air with a 1.4metre kite i was quite tall as a 14 year old so if your quite strong and quite big i would go for a 3 metre at least if its air your looking for its what i bought as my first, if the winds strong enough and you get technique for jumping you will easily make 10 foot jumps but personally i would go for at least a 2 m the most i would say about 3m you will not feel barely any pull off a 1.4m so about 2.5m you start to get good pull

@furrykilla yo try moving onto 5 meter. i thought like you. i was on 1.4 and thought it would be too strong. but its really good. and on a 3meter kite i dont think you will get that high.

my kite is a 10 metre and the wind was 20 mph.But your kite will be good how to fly coz u need to learn how to fly before u learn hoe to jump.All the best HAPPY FLYING!
