  • I hate you...

  • I love your voice

  • Yeah I thought the 'Life in the Universe' video was a proffesional job. lol

  • ASSOCIATE scientist

  • the optical illusion that galaxies are moving away is because the universe has motion. It is more like a merry-go-round than it is an explosion.

  • hey tony...if we are expanding, and it is probably exponentially, then molecules will grow further and further apart, and within just a few short years, we can go from reality to an altered reality....right?

  • You are a comedic GENIOUS!! I've watched ALL of your you tube vids!!! Your right up their with conan obrein and larry david man!! KEEP POSTING! I'm your biggest fan!!

  • you should do it

  • yeah people are harsh on the internet, they hide behind their monitors and harass people cause they can't do it in real life. don't worry about them, you rule, keep up the good work.

  • During the first moments of the HDF video I thought you were the voice of Carl Sagan.

  • Is Boulder, CO a big astronomy Mecca, or something?

  • write a book! it would be great, plz do it

  • It shocked me when you said,"I am the guy who made the hubble..." I was thinking that you are going to say "the hubble space telescope" LOL

  • Tony darnell, i wish you were my teacher. seriously you rock!

  • yeah no kidding, he'd be an excellent teacher to have.

  • You should write a book. :)

  • keep it up man, doin great,

  • Alright, we viewers with self-respect don't really care if youre cool. Drop some knowledge, we're not here to find out who you are.

  • there's nothing wrong with being an astronomy nerd...

  • You are amazing. Seriously you are. I respect you and I want to talk to you. About everything about astronomy.

  • why is it ,on both versions of your deepfield video you have two conflicting bits of info......in one you say the universe is 47 billion light yrs across...in the other you say its 78 billion across...... WHICH ?????

  • one may have been radius one diameter, these are also guestimations as space is huuugeeee!

  • You're awesome Tony!

  • being an astronomy nerd IS cool,i like astronomy

  • Hey man ncie videos. I loved the Hubble video the mood and all that stuff was great. Keep up the cool video I really enjoy it. And I love that you posted up the Hubble video it was awesome. It really got me into Astronomy.

  • Yes, appeal to us nerds! I love the videos, keep them coming. More people need to be informed about astronomy. And I think you have the ability to keep people interested. You are fun and above all intelligent.

  • Hey man, I think you have a great voice, especially for a narrator. I think you're cool...

  • keep doing this.

im like a freak for this stuff.

thanx a lot for the videos.

  • YOu are so much fun man!

  • great videos... you should definitely keep them coming! i think its a nice way to get people interested and informed, without all the big words and numbers that most of us "normal" people cant really comprehend...

  • nice universe video i've always been interested in this stuff. i really think there are other life forms. i just wish we could somehow reach them. i wonder how they would look. there are probably some that are in the age equivalent to our stone age and hopefully some that are advanced. i wish i knew.

  • forget the haters !!

  • Dont say things like that to yourself. I think you are cool, and your kids should be lucky to have a fun father.

    Keep up doing it :)

  • good job buddy.

  • your rambling like an idiot! please keep it together

  • I know, I can barely watch this one. Thanks for the advice, I'll work in it.

  • @tdarnell Having recently discovered your channel (dunno what took me so long!) I decided to go back to the beginning. Interesting to see how much they've changed from then to now, quite a big improvement in all areas, but for the record there's nothing wrong with rambling.

  • FAKE! You have too much time on your hands!

Just kidding...I loved the Hubble Video and looking for more. Your Vlog is fine and keep posting!

  • You're doing great Tony. A few questions...

How far of a distance though the scope has been reached?

Is there a way right now that the public can get a live view of what the hubble is capturing and if so, how can we have this access.

Because of who much coverage the hubble is able picture, can you swear on the Holy Bible in front of us YouTubists that you have not seen any signs of space alien activities?

    And...

Do you have a website where we can see more of your work?

  • Yeah, just ramble it down as you think it. We want at least a bit of reality, otherwise we would watch TV.

  • Carry on, tdarnell! I find you very informative, very earnest, and very humorous (humorous in your vlog, that is). Keep up the great work, and keep posting!

  • I liked this a lot, you ARE cool dude.

    Carpe Noctum !

  • it was a good video u made

  • hey Tony. Good on you mate. if you're real and honest and relaxed (yes you are) then people will enjoy it. Astronomy is like the most important science in that it gives us a sense of perspective that no other field does - except perhaps quantum physics. Its like the micro and macro cosmos. But lets be honest, looking into a telescope has to be more fascinating than looking into a microscope. keep it up, was nice to put a moving face to the voice. Take care, and have an great new year! Herrin

  • Tony is an astromy pimp not nerd. Your the cool guy at the astromy high school.

  • nice keep populate astronomy.

  • Tony your choice of music, inserting the music where it belongs in the video AND your editing is superb. I don't have to tell you that the background music makes a world of difference.

Looking forward to watching more videos. Thanks.

  • Thanks for the reply. Sorry I was so hard on ya. Its not to often you get the opportunity to appreciate the wit and the mind of a scientist. Watched the video a second time and understand the logic. The lighting is not bad, you have all your hair and you have a trick remote control on the camera. Right now I am feeling very Hubble I mean Humble. They both are good things right?

  • See? Now that's better. You're a very interesting person.

  • Great stuff man! I look forward to more of your videos. (btw, you're plenty cool to me!)

  • hehe, that was actually funny @ two diff people comment.

    keep em comin

  • Yap some more and show off your cool telescopes!! The cuts to alter-ego Tony were funny. :)

  • I first saw your hubble video when it only had a few hundred hits and I'm glad to see it has done so well...yet magically it hasn't made it into the featured list...keep up the good work!

  • Thank you early viewer! I think the reason it never made it to the front page was the music. Copyrights and all that.

I've since found some pretty good sources for music I have permission to use.

Still, there's nothing like Pink Floyd.

  • ART BELL give him a call! Ask him to give you a plug on his radio show. You gave me something to enjoy while I was unemplyoed. Thanks

  • Hi, nice to finally meet you. I love the Hubble videos and subscribe to them.

  • Nice, I look forward to the rest.

  • You fit right in Tony! You seem like a real cool guy... and funny too! So please don't even think of making this your one and only video blog. You gotta do more. You just got to!

  • you ROCK, man!!

  • Nerds are cool, everyone knows that nowadays.

  • Fun stuff! Your braver than I am. I think this format will be great for answering questions.

  • Thanks man. This is without a doubt the most out-there thing I have EVER done.

I promise to always practice personal hygiene before getting in front of the camera...

  • Wow, I had no idea you videos had gotten so popular! Glad to hear it. They deserve the attention, and I think the VLOG's a good idea.

  • The Hubble Deep Field is a great video and I hope you keep up your vlog. There is not enough quality content here on youtube like yours.

  • Funny video, awesome editing and great voice. You should be on the radio.

  • Looking forward to your vlog posts.

  • Is this lonelygirl15's dad? Just kidding, great job Tony, I love your videos.

  • awesome.

  • Nice blog Tony. Hope to see more!!! ALOHA!!!

  • I have a request for futher videos: to post other astronomy educational video ones, as the one you edited before (Hubble Deep field). It's quite interesting!!! Good professor!!! ;)

  • excellent! you are awesome!

  • We all white knuckle through our first video..at least you actually had something interesting to say and I look forward to your next posts.

  • Thanks Guys, for the support, but I can barely watch this! I'm trying way too hard to be funny. I promise I'll get the hang of this eventually, just bear with me.

  • well subscribing to your channel paid off! i for one am glad you decided to do something like this... your vid is part of my favorite list... will you be putting together animated clips as well? in any event, welcome back...

    ~cateyes~

  • Yes, there'll be NASA videos and other animations as needed. Those take a long time to deal with so I'm trying to find my voice in the simplest way possible first, just me in front of a camera.

    Thanks for the nod!

  • Great video! Keep it up, we can't wait to see more from you.

  • Thanks Tony. That was great, well i enjoyed it anyway.

Learning by video blog is a good idea. I look forward to the next installment.

  • We need guys like you on YT please keep it up, you'll raise our community IQ a bit

  • You are incredibly hawt. ho-tt. Gawd, I love your voice.

  • Kool great video!
