@CodGlitches2011x The second decoder is wired to the same pickups but the motor wires go to the smoke unit. It does indeed have its own address and the controller can be used to partially control flow of smoke
@gtacrusher123 The units from seauthe come in different sizes, there's info on the gaugemaster website, if you like we can order them in for you providing there is stock.
to wire up for Dc, literally all you have to do is run 2 wires form the unit to the pickups (one wire for left pickups, one wire for right pickups) Thanks
@gtacrusher123 if there is a screw in the chimney then more work is needed, first thing is to remove the screw (chimney screws are normally body fixing screws unless its a hornby J94) and find a new way, elsewhere to secue the body, you'd probably need a small self tapping screw for that.
Then you'll need to drill out the chimney so there's a hole big enough and deep enough for the unit of your choice. Bit more work involved but it's not too difficult.
@Flairrail hi again i want to know does it come in 2 seprate units (the tank and the actual smoke generator) so the tank can go in the tender and the smoke generator in the actual loco and do you need to use distiled water or normal water
@gtacrusher123 Hey, It's a single tubular unit, comes in various lengths and widths so it just slides into the chimney and it burns a special 'smoke oil' also made by seuthe
@RailwaySeriesKB assuming you mean on DC/analogue, Yes, all you do is chosoe the correct smoke unit and solder/attatch the 2 wires from the smoke unit to the locomotive's pickup, when the engine stops though the unit will stop smoking
@legosluigi I will do when i get the time to convert my newest Black 5

how is the second decoder wired into the locomotive and does it have its own loco id?

@5029tom I intend to convert my DCC Sound black 5 to a smoker, I have also adjusted Hornby's sounds to work better.

@gtacrusher123 You would just wire the smoke unit directly to the pickups on DC, the units themselves come in different sizes

is it possible to run a smoke generator without DCC?
