  • sweet great idea useing a pan instead of baking it <3 thanks!

  • wut do those taste like?

are they better than the ones you get at chinese stores. ive heard they are,, but this recipe seems so simple hahaha

  • The flavor may be slightly better than those in a restaurant; although the ones in my favorite restaurant here are pretty good :)

  • Awesome!!!! You make it so easy

  • Looks like your head is floating

  • hi i was wondering if i can make this eggless?

  • You do need the egg in this recipe because that is what binds the ingredients together. They do make an egg replacer called Ener-G. I think this would be the best replacement. Although I've never tried it, it should work the same :)

  • thank you

    i'll try that

  • i only have the main ingredence

    the egg,sugar,water,vallina extract...

also,is plain flour a ok sub to cornstarch?

and can i use vegetable oil?

i dont have anytime to buy other things...

and the partys about to start...

  • You can use the vegetable oil, and you don't need the instant tea or almond extract, but it will change the flavor a bit. But you definitly need to use the cornstarch otherwise they will be too soft :)

  • so cool ming sing u rock with cooking

  • this is awesome~ thank u!

  • do they taste different than the ones in the store

  • no, they taste about the same :)

  • Nice work, we liked your video very much so we embedded it on ChefCommons . com w/ link back and reference to Youtube. (Let us know if you don't wish for it to be featured)

  • tip: show the end result first.

  • you are my hero, I love this idea!

  • Knightwolf as a Chef an a degree of AOS.. your fingers do get us to it.. the more youwork with hot food you build up calluses...

  • Hi, I have a question.

What if I can't find instant tea in my country? can I replace it with instant ice tea or what?

and also, what if I don't have almond extract, its that really necesary?

  • The instant tea is mainly for color so you can just leave that out. The almond extract however adds to the flavor. It will taste different without it. But if you can't get it, you can simply use vanilla in it's place :)

  • ☺ Secret Chinese Recipe Use Smiley Face Happy ☺

  • hurray fer engrish!

  • lol

  • Well I made the FCs and they came out great... but then after the time you said to let it sit out to dry... (I forget now, 20 minutes?) I had stuck them in plastic sandwich bags because I did not want them to get stale... well over night (After the cats destroyed more than half the batch that was on the table... tonight the FCs came out soggy. Now restaurant ones are singularly wrapped so I thought I could do the same thing but I had about 5 or 6 per bag... and they were not hard at all...

  • My wife suggested to let them sit out over night to thoroughly dry before putting them in plastic bags... is that correct? Also I suppose I could just put them in small sandwich paper bags, but the whole reason I did not leave them out or put hem in paper bags is because I did not want them to go stale...

  • Yes, you definitely need to let them sit out. If you enclose them while they are even the slightest bit warm they will turn soggy :)

  • This recipe is great, tastes just like them, maybe even better. Of course my hand writing isn't as good as yours though. I thought my fingers would be heat resistant enough but they were not and I had no gloves so I just toughed it out. Some times I felt it was ok to handle at others it was way too hot and not really sure why. I do not have to worry about leaving any finger prints behind now. Hahahaha. Can some one's fingers get use to it?

  • I'm pretty sure a person's hands can become heat tolerant the more they are exposed to it. My grandmother for instance was always in the kitchen and she could touch almost anything that to me was majorly hot. Now, my hands have become similar to hers :)

  • Can your mouth or tongue get use to hot things as well? When I watch the Iron Chef I always see them getting a small spoon full of boiling liquid (Or close to boiling.) and tasting it... to me when I eat some thing hot by accident I burn my mouth and or tongue and I can not taste any thing from then on... I would assume that would go for every one else as well, yet they keep on tasting other things since he has to know how good it tastes for the judges...

  • I would think that you would burn some tastebuds...so I agree with you :)

  • thanks....your video is helpful

  • thanx for this!

  • I love your accent, I wouldn't get rid of it :) any way.. what is the tea for in the cookies? sorry if it's a stupid question :(

  • No question is ever stupid :) I used Nestea instant tea which is a powdery like subsance that's used to make ice tea. It's sold in a jar, usually near the tea bags in the grocery store. Thanks so much for writing :)

  • hello!

    just wanted to say

    your accent isnt weird :)

    very cute

    uhm.. oh yea!

what kind of instant tea do you use for this recipe?

does it really matter what type it is? :o

  • I actually used Nestea instant tea, but any type of instant tea will do. Thanks for the comment :)

  • Ah, I see :)

I had my 8 year old sister help me with this

they didnt come out as round and yours but it

was fun little hands on project :)

    and they were delicious too!

Now to try your sweet and sour recipe

    :D

  • .....u have a weird accent...

  • It's southern - and I'm working on getting rid of it :)
