This isn't an Aion copy, it has slightly better graphics, different GUI. Wow is not a copy of Diablo 2 since WoW is 3D and Diablo is 2.5D. Diablo is not close to Elder scrolls Daggerfall. Now stop calling other games copies of another. It's annoying.

looks pretty good. I have already joined the site forums and im waiting for a beta or something. But this fight in the beginning felt like a tank and spank but it got really good by having him charge and move the tank around lol. A lot of games that i have played from the east tends to be grinders and tank and spank bosses but this looks a bit different. I don't mind grinding but i hate tank and spank bosses. Also graphics look epic.
@traebarlow I don't think this game is just about graphics Ive watched a lot of videos and it seems like a refreshing change to the traditional point and click MMO type games. Although graphics are always nice =) even if this game doesn't end up being the next big thing i think that it defiantly a step in the right direction and look forwards to trying it out.

If you are going to demo a real-time action game, you don't just sit there with your shield up like a noob... Time your blocks with the boss' attacks! This lancer sucked.
@sapachino Vindictus is garbage. It has incredibly easy PvE, and you are forced to play a ~5 minute run of 2-3 hitting enemies just to get to a boss. Even Blood Prince is extremely easy. It severely limits your play time unless you pay real money, and all it has going for it are the heavily instanced dungeons packed with physics. North America doesn't even have a 4th boat or PvP while Korea has 7 boats and PvP, although it sucks.
Vindictus is an awful action game with stupid combos and smashes.

Come on now, you have to PAY $.50 to do a run-of-the-mill dungeon run after running a non-tutorial dungeon 16+ times? Token resets only 3 times a week? Pathetic. combat looks alot like monster hunter than an mmo like say wow, very cool with the combat being in realtime and not decided by dicerolls or some stupid shit like that.
Graphics wise it's very impressive. However they should have made the health and mana bar a little bigger and thicker. Maybe extend it over half the screen. Everything else...blah. Whole thing is just tank and spank. All of them except the tank seem to be doing nothing but occasionally moving around to stay in range.

Your basing its gameplay off 1 demo. Im sure battles like these, in the future. Will have adds, and special counters etc. I think this video is just scratching the surface. And so far. I see a shit ton of potential.
I see a shit ton of over-reaching and unnecessary hype. They've immediately focused on the graphics, and haven't even built a game yet, there's nothing to the combat and not even a HUD or UI. I mean, a game that has designed every character down to the minor details, yet hasn't even built a proper game engine, is destined to fail. The reason people are excited about this is simply because of the next-gen graphics which are seen occasionally, but never to this scale, Dynamic Lighting etc.

WOW! The "tank" actually uses his shield to block rather than just hold it on the side "like in wow" The boss falling through the ground kind of ruined it a bit but this looks ok, I just hope the character customization is good.
I love how he actually HAS to take the blunt of the hits with his shield and block the boss for the rest of the team. It litteraly brings out the meaning of "Tank" In a whole new way that is rarely ever seen in a MMO.
Not sure what you mean by that. It fit the MMORPG genre perfectly. It supports Massive Multiplayer Online Content and it has Role Playing Game elements in it. :)

It is not "Massive" because players are put in instances in small groups, unlike massive games where there are thousands of players in a persistent world.
Hence this game is a Multiplayer Online RPG, but not a massive one.
Not sure where you have read that, according to interview that occured during the HanGame Invitional 2009. Blue Holes Studios has stated that there will be NO instances. The entire world will be seamless. Additionally, BHS has announced they plan for each server to be able to hold the largest concurrent user load. That is to say that 10,000+ players will be able to play together in one persistent world. Now, I don't know by your standards, but 10,000 is pretty massive to me. :)

@sapachino Vindictus is garbage. It has incredibly easy PvE, and you are forced to play a ~5 minute run of 2-3 hitting enemies just to get to a boss. Even Blood Prince is extremely easy. It severely limits your play time unless you pay real money, and all it has going for it are the heavily instanced dungeons packed with physics. North America doesn't even have a 4th boat or PvP while Korea has 7 boats and PvP, although it sucks.
Vindictus is an awful action game with stupid combos and smashes.

@thauller Well put. It was only good during CBT and OBt. Afterwards, a huge money sink. Come on now, you have to PAY $.50 to do a run-of-the-mill dungeon run after running a non-tutorial dungeon 16+ times? Token resets only 3 times a week? Pathetic. Vindictus is a massive failure yet people still play because it's the closest you can get to a pretty MMO atm. Shame.

Yeah not determined by dice roles and button bashing while trying to exploit mechanics or chaining CCs.
Not that I hate the dice roles, I like RPGS since super mario RPG, but this has been a long time coming for MMOs instead of every game offering the same play, this si something different.

Graphics wise it's very impressive. However they should have made the health and mana bar a little bigger and thicker. Maybe extend it over half the screen. Everything else...blah. Whole thing is just tank and spank. All of them except the tank seem to be doing nothing but occasionally moving around to stay in range.

@schmendriks agreed. given that korea is great at female character models and outfits (sex sells), and they seem to be introducing something new and possibly fantastic, they will likely get a lot of hopeful buyers who will find out soon enough that the game fails in some major way (probably in grind, possibly in something else like server load incapability)

well hopefuley this is just the alt+z version, like in wow...doesnt show the hud so it can show the focus of this video...the boss. considering these guys built the game, they might have easily learned the buttons, and temporarily removed them while still leaving them usable. the main thing i want to see is easy movement, easy understanding of quests, and a good storyline.

Last time i checked, the engine they are using for this game will cut the graphic req's in half. Just because the gfx look fucking great. doesn't mean its gonna cut down hard on your system.

Fuck, this game is horrible, I mean the lancer as a tank looks awesome, but this is WAY TOO SIMPLE, and look at the fucking mage! Another typical Japanese game where they've tried to overdo everything and revolutionize the market, not gonna' happen, WoW is still king, and this will fall due to sheer un-originality. I mean, half the market couldn't play this game because of the graphics, I mean, seriously, this is a high-end graphical game, and a shitload of people have old computers.

For starters, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, doesn't matter, it's all oriental Asian. Yes, you can lower the detail in most MMORPG's. But games like this will have a minimum system requirement that millions of suburban computers won't be able to live up to. And yes, you want better graphics you need a better computer, obviously. I never said you didn't, but in case you haven't noticed, computers aren't cheap, especially gaming computers.

I see a shit ton of over-reaching and unnecessary hype. They've immediately focused on the graphics, and haven't even built a game yet, there's nothing to the combat and not even a HUD or UI. I mean, a game that has designed every character down to the minor details, yet hasn't even built a proper game engine, is destined to fail. The reason people are excited about this is simply because of the next-gen graphics which are seen occasionally, but never to this scale, Dynamic Lighting etc.

@LimeGuy101 this video is over a year old. there isnt supposed to be a cluttered screen, its more focused on the action, which is why there's no targeting and a focus on good graphics.read up on it. it also uses the unreal 3 engine which isnt heaps new tech, it just looks good compared to older mmorpg's? i understand your concern though, since it is a korean game and there is alot of focus on high res boobs, as always.

WOW! The "tank" actually uses his shield to block rather than just hold it on the side "like in wow" The boss falling through the ground kind of ruined it a bit but this looks ok, I just hope the character customization is good.

I love how he actually HAS to take the blunt of the hits with his shield and block the boss for the rest of the team. It litteraly brings out the meaning of "Tank" In a whole new way that is rarely ever seen in a MMO.

Not sure what you mean by that. It fit the MMORPG genre perfectly. It supports Massive Multiplayer Online Content and it has Role Playing Game elements in it. :)

It is not "Massive" because players are put in instances in small groups, unlike massive games where there are thousands of players in a persistent world.
Hence this game is a Multiplayer Online RPG, but not a massive one.

Not sure where you have read that, according to interview that occured during the HanGame Invitional 2009. Blue Holes Studios has stated that there will be NO instances. The entire world will be seamless. Additionally, BHS has announced they plan for each server to be able to hold the largest concurrent user load. That is to say that 10,000+ players will be able to play together in one persistent world. Now, I don't know by your standards, but 10,000 is pretty massive to me. :)

@GeeakFreeak Aion is famous for its massive pvp fights,yet right now each server has about 1000 players online anytime,which is really little..
I doubt it will only have 10.000 players at each server,this has Aions graphics,gameplay better than wow,they announced on the official page that they will "westernise" it,which means they will reduce ANY grinding,so i quess it will be more succesful than the other asian MMORPGs(L2,Aion,Guild Wars)as well as wow.
