The first gameplay vid. Captain America, Wolverine, and Deadpool vs. Ryu, Chris, and Dante. When I saw the first Hyper Combo, I realized the ten years of waiting were really worth it, along with all the training and exp I got from the previous games. Plus, it reminded me of Spider-Man's stage from Marvel Super Heroes the way it rose like an elevator.

I think the primary reason why these themes are better than the characters is because they weren't restricted to preserving any kind of nostalgia. These themes are original which gives the creators more freedom to express themselves. It's hard to do that when Ryu theme must sound like Ryu. I might play with the stage theme after I get tired of the character themes, or If I have to fight Sentinel teams all the time :P
