I remember going in a Sauna. For my first time. In a hotel, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Yes, i am a Finn from the United States. It's very therapeutic, and relaxing. It's part of Suomi's traditions. I just came from sauna, soon second round ^^ My traditions: After one sauna round, in winter I take a cold shower (My family has too much neighbours to roll in the snow) and in summer I swimmm ^^ And I like to drink cold juice or milk after sauna :)

I love Saunas as a Finn (Perekele Huvaa). If you live in California I can tell you a secret place here just 200 miles north of LA, 220 miles south of Sacramento. Send me a message requesting this place. It has saunas, drinking and river on camp site. Friendly finns and good times...

@OrganicShampoo - Minnesota area, and Probably Washington State have saunas enough, there are small concentrations of Finnish immigrants there. Weel NY and Florida too, but to roll in the snow... Miami Beach, or Central park ?! :) Go to north US for a try! Exhilarating rolls and dips to you!

It is one main reason for doing sauna. If the weather is really really cold, the whole world ist pure ice. The wind is blowing cold andsharp as a blade. Then, you can enjoy Sauna at its best.
