@ajhawald He removes a splash cymbal, a cymbal with a sharp, quick attack. I'm not 100% on why he removed it, maybe to give himself more room to play the hi hat it was clamped to. The other 2 stacked cymbals are a ride cymbal with another small splash on it. The 2 snares are there just to have 2 different snare sounds to use. If by asking "what" the different cymbals and snares are, you mean what kind and brand etc, I dunno lol

The only thing that confuses me about this is around 3:12 when he hits the sampler and the snare kicks in--is he really playing that snare or is it sampled? It sounds just like the snare in the Amen Break, so I'm just a little confused. I mean, I know he has a lot of talent, I'm just trying to figure out exactly what he's doing.

Why would you slag off KJ Sawka? You may not personally enjoy Drum n' bass and jungle drums (and I am not a fan, it gives me an instant headache) but you cannot fault his talent. To be clear: He uses a sampler live in the beginning to record one set of backing drums. then plays on top of those, which is probably where your retardation comes from. A single DnB breakbeat that you would hear in production is usually comprised of a a multitude of extremely fine-tuned layered beats. I'm a metal drummer and even I know that before commenting on the performance in this video. Not that it matters though, commenting on youtube is like shitting yourself in the face on purpose.
