"the most popular singer song writer in Kenya possible in the whole of africa" god forbid i disagree.i did nt even know he existed..not even known in Sourthen africa...i cant take away his prowes as a polished musician...he is good.
oyeah i understand he still has age on his side so we pray he achieves that goal! he is lucky Kenyan politicians are more tolerant and human..in my Mugabeland(ZIM) he cud hve disappeared or in exile....criticising the status quo is punishable by death...Thomas Mapfumo one of the africa's greatest musician is in exile..why?..his songs raffled some feathers in high offices n he is lucky to have escaped with his life...so Eric shud be careful this is AFRICA lol!
If you do, they performed a very very nice song together sometime back, it is called twende twende, i think 2008 or late 2007. If Eric is not talented, you think man Tuku could have accepted a collabo (duet) with him? I dont know why no one is uploading his videos. My number one artiste is Tuku and I really really respect him. Gosh the guy is talented! And Eric Wainaina is going his was. Watch him!
@mtafiti u didnt get my point clear i said Eric is talented man with a vision bt he has to watch his steps wen singing abt politics, we luv him n we wudnt want 2n lose him..african politics is dirty lol...I never heard of dat duet lol, i think its a blockbuster..."Twende,twende" is Tonga language meaning" LET'S GO"..Tonga is monority ppl in Zimbabwe/ Zambia..try 2 hunt 4 it man i cant wait..thanx
Thanks. I thought for a moment you were a Kenyan. I don't know why there is no studio type music of Eric Wainaina. In Kenya we no longer kill political voiced people, we claim we are democratic (lol!)
@mtafiti.thanx am zimbabwean lol bt wel we r brothers..so in kenya u no longer kill political voices u say? What happened to Oscar K amau Kingara and John Paul Oulu, the human rights activists? killed in broad day light..cold blooded and wel calculated killings lol..so is this democracy u tok abt brother?
you know so much about Kenya and am now lost. They say those killings are not political, they are business deals gone sour! I can't explain but nowadays you can talk as much as you want about politics. they say Oscar was funding Mungiki. I know you know mungiki! I don't want to talk about it. It scares me how he was murdered near state house, on state house road!
well his death made head lines all over the world..Wel the allegations are just myopic and unfounded.. the reason why he was eliminated is clear,he had compiled a report of names of those who were behind the unrest/killings during the elections..including big names..he was abt to hand over the info to UN..Remember dat a few hours earlier Dr Alfred Mutua the gvt spokesman made those allegations b4 de shooting took place....so ????? who did it?
Funny thing, in Swahili which is what Erick sings in sometimes it means the same thing! But you must remember swahili is a mix of bantu languages and arabic. so if the Tonga are bantu, then it's not strange at all.
@zuluman2008 in your comment you said God forbid.... yr use of God forbid is rather shallow... do u just use words for the sake of using them?? the God forbid is out of context. FYI its normally used to cancel possibilities of horrible scenarios eg car accident, death etc..
Music is politics in the mildest form. Eric, don't think you compose your music to tell us a 'message'. We all know what you're singing without wanting to buy a record to tell us the same back in notes. You had to fit your words to the situation, hence you're just as an opportunist as any other corrupt individual. It's only that your corruption is marketed under the guise of music, while you walk to the bank laughing. So shatap, and make some music we can actually dance to. Up your tempo mate!!
i think you need to get a life and stop hating cause clearly that is what ur great at! Let me educate you this song was out years before the post election violence but i don't blame your ignorance.
Very nice...I wanted to listen to the whole song first before I heard what Erick Wainaina was saying...made me remember that time Moi was still our president...Keep it rollin Erick..atleast they heard this!!!
