I would think this is NOT a cover up for anything this is a Scientific-only spacecraft, even when it finds earth-like planets it is doubtful we will ever get there, easier to terra-form mars then to go to a solar system 10+ light years away. Easier to go to Jupiter/Saturns moons to search for life...
