Why is it we can't see that driving two city blocks to buy some beer (and many, many other examples) is simply dumb, unsupportable and a huge waste? We make such poor use of our energy (esp. all of you that have houses that leak warm air like sieves in the winter) that we'd do well to work much, much harder on conservation than figuring out how to support continued waste. Also, is it really wise to spend so much energy on computer games? .... computer games? Does that provide value? Nope!
corn ethanol is and was a step in the right direction we needed a place to start getting off of foreign oil. second generation Bio fuels is another step we are working on. Ethanol has created many jobs, raised farm income, helps out the environment , it helps keep some of our money at home and makes my car run better. I think it deserves more respect than most people are giving it.
If I go smash all your windows I'm going to create jobs for the glaziers. What is unseen is that I have destroyed jobs for the book publishers, or the theater owners or wherever else you would have spent your disposable income.
The government cannot create any jobs because all the money it has, it takes; it is the greatest of all window breakers.
Second generation biofuels are almost as terrible as the first; mining top-soil in this way is terrible and does very little good.
I am beginning to think that you don't even know how corn ethanol or second generation ethanol is made. with second generation bio fuels you wouldn't be mining top soil if you use the right feedstock.
