I looked on the Miller Engineering site & saw that the neon signs are really for HO gauge. Did you use HO gauge on your N scale diorama here? If so, it works.
@perth45 Im not sure if you are still adding on to your city as there haven't been any new videos but i was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how to make buildings like yours, or maybe show us in more detail the buildings you have already built ?
@mrchipeater I have completed another block which features shops/ cafe and a taller office block...the shops/ cafe all have detailed interiors, also the building on the left has been replaced with a taller, more elaborate building featuring an outside elevator.....I simply haven't had much time to put the new block into place...buildings are designed by me, made from balsa wood, maybe I'll consider doing a tutorial some time in the future, its just that I work 6 days and 4 evenings a week
I've done scratch modeling and completely understand the blood sweat and tears that goes into a single building let alone an entire city. Just BRILLIANT work...I love it! I actually stumbled upon this looking for a technique I saw in railroad magazine where they used tiny tvs to simulate people walking in the windows...still hunting.
I want to do the same thing and put a 4 lane afx race track in the middle of the buildings. I want to make it look like a Grand Prix in a major city. you did a real good job!
Oh Jesus now I've found a new aspiration to complete before I die. And I thought that bloke who recreated a 1980s Pan Am first class cabin in his garage was just what I needed! I bow before you good sir
I love it! do you think you can make the Bank of China tower in Hong Kong into this kind of scale?? it would be great to see the bank of china tower light up at night with its triangular shape on the tower.
I agree about not having any lighting in the cars....I actually didn't know such things existed when I was working on the layout....I will rectify this in the future..currently working on an EL track right down the middle......
thanks.....there is an exterior layer of 1/16 balsa wood, with windows cut out with a metal ruler and scalpel...painted...then interior balsa...1/32...with selected windows cut out.....clear acetate between the two layers to mimic glass windows....frosted acetate behind clear windows to diguise the interior lights......the tallest is 6ft and took 3 months to build from the design/ drawing stage....and I worked on it every spare minute I had, including days off, Sundays etc..
Thanks everyone for the comments...there have been some additions since...and I'm currently working on an EL line (elevated train)...so there will be another video soon.....
Wow, this is absolutely amazing. You made a great model. The lighting, props, building structures, and especially the sound fx is what made the model come alive almost. Very cool.
thanks Bob....and thanks everyone for the nice comments.....really appreciate it....I must do another video this weekend now I have added new buildings and changed things.......
Greg this is cool as hell looks like a movie scene killer stuff . All you need now is godzilla hanging off one of your buildings and you could make a movie Keep up the killer stuff
Very very nice bro. I like how you put the sound effects in the video. Great video.
