actually for track use the steel brakes are better in that they are cheaper to replace, as brake rotors wear, even ceramics. So if you track, better to pay $2K vs. $12K for new rotors.

Read it again. I never said ceramics fade. My RS has them. I said the steel is better for regular track use due to low replacement cost. Ceramics DO wear. And are $12K to replace (vs. $2k for steel/iron). Many guys get the PCCB's on their GT3's due to higher resale, only to get Brembos/AP's for tracking, then put the PBBC's back on when they sell. But if money is no object, then yes, PCCB's are better. But $10K better? Not really.

Also, if you use, braided lines, racing (hi-temp) brake fluid and racing pads, steels will be more fade-resistant... so much so, it's virtually fade proof. US-spec Porsche GT3 Cups and RSRs come with Brembo or AP steel brakes, as racing teams prefer the lower maintenance and replacement costs.

I have a GT3RS and just today some guy in an M5 tried racing me. At the light, he took off first, as if to show off or something. I revved out 1st, hit 2nd and had passed him in 3rd before we hit 100. I was several car lengths a head when we stopped. And he just followed me for a while and them sped past. I let him, as I didn't want to escalate the situation. IMO, these tests are fun to watch, but total BS and bias towards M-cars strength. Let's see N-Ring times: GT3RS 7:43 and the M5 = 8:13.

My GT3-RS is heavily modded for track duty. And luckily for me, I don't have to find a car that does it all. I have the means to have many types of cars and my RS is a dedicated track car. I prefer going to the track and learning how to drive at the limit vs. drag racing on the street in a straight line. And going 205mph on the street is not good measure, it's dangerous and stupid. IMO, the track is the end-all-be-all measure of performance. And based on that, your car is not faster than mine.

Yeah, i agree mate I have no doubts about that. But around the english roads and motorway the M5 wins in everyway for me. I am buying 1 in feb because of 2 reasons. A) its a family car that can be used everyday B) It whoops super car arse. OK there are a few that will punish the M5 and many around a track but all in all its the one to have as a performace road car, more so than a porsche and even a gallardo. That's not the fastest porsche off the line. In a straight line, it goes the gt2, turbo, then the gt3rs. It's a 500+hp tuned v10 against a flat 6. When you have that much more power, weight doesn't play a large factor.
