  • I used to love watching B.B. Gabor and InstaBand at the King of Hearts. He did a great version of Big Yellow Taxi, remember? And Peter Follett was just the nicest player! I ended up playing bass with Eugene Smith & the Warm-Up Band for about 5 years and B.B. and I lost touch. I loved his first album, never really heard the second. Nice tune!

  • I moved to Toronto in '76 from New York with everything I could fit in my little Datsun 240Z. I played guitar and bass and found myself rehearsing with a couple of guys named Vito and Lenny in a music store on St. Clair with rehearsal space in the back (Stop 8??). Vito and Lenny were no great shakes and I was completely distracted by the amazing band next door. That's how I met B.B. Gabor. We never became great friends or anything but we kind of stayed in touch and our paths crossed regularly.

  • were you ever involved in Gabor's albums? I have the 1st LP with the black and white cover. Peace..

  • @oatstao - no, though I was aware of what he was doing. I did buy a pair of those made-in-China black slippers

like the ones he wore on stage. I think he created a fashion fad by wearing them as his regular footwear!
