My voice is very raspy...like if I scream it doesn't change. It's like no hope! I always wished I could sing! I know deep down in my soul that it's some kind of wonderful voice inside of me...:-) every where I go I get comments like "are you sick" "what happened to your voice" some people love the way I talk. The comments are just crazy! Am screwed huh?!?
I sing with a naturally scratchy/raspy voice but I've learned to like sing clear and round in my opera voice. so I don't think it has effect. It does if like you smoke, drink, scream all that stuff. And sing when your super sick. like laryngitis .
@mouthforwar93 Hey. Thanks for reaching out. You should visit my website and fill out the form. I'd recommend a private lesson to learn effective techniques.
@FailedMisery187 there is a different technique for that, it's not as if they're just screaming at the top of their lungs. take m. shadows from avenged sevenfold for instance, he has an amazing vocal range and at one point before he learned how to scream properly he had to have surgery because he blew a blood vessel on his vocal chords. but he's an exception i guess
OMG DILEESA U HAV ELIKE EXTREME WHITE TEETH AND A BEAUTIFUL SMILE i guess its a girl thing I have been watching ur videos caz i am a teenager women and i want to sing good
@olnnn Yeah, I use raspiness but it doesn't hurt when I do it, the next day u still can't do it for so long.. Does that work like a muscle and you'll be able to do it longer and longer but if it's for a long period you need to make sure there's atleast 1 day rest or something like that? Thanks for reply mate! :) I subbed u!
Probably not quite as brutal as she makes it sound at least (if done right at least, as far as i've heard there will still be some damage.). I mean, listen to people like Graham Bonnet, Hansi Kürsch or David Cloverdale, they have a really strong head voice even though they use a raspy singing style.
I heard from a vocal trainer once you've got to have the anatomy in your throath for it to do it without ruining your voice. It's sort of a skin flap like your vocal chords under your vocal chords that you can use to produce the sound. Some people don't have it, or have realy small ones. Is that correct? I can't find it anywhere on the internet o.0
Thank you sooooo much for this info!! I'm so thankful that you made this video now I'll definately more careful when i sing. Can you make a video on how to protect your voice from bad effects of singing please????????
Is there absolutely no way to strengthen your head voice after weakened by singing w a raspy voice?

This kind of makes me admire Mariah Carey more, her head voice is amazing even though she sings raspy :)

@Dileesa Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, and Kelly Clarkson sing in a raspy voice, they could still make use of their other registers.

@ThePianoguy89 Aguilera even if her voice is truly one of a kind, she OFTEN goes flat when she attempt high belting, so yes it does affect her voice.
theoneandonly2503 7 months ago
@theoneandonly2503 It doesn't affect her head voice though because that Eb6 that she hit at the Grammys was amazing!
