Thanks for this! I'm Seattle born-and-raised, and have been through Susanville several times to and from Reno. Great memories, and I've been through during a couple of very happy times in my life. Always with my late father. The year he passed away, I left some flowers at a Susanville school yard in his honor.

Thinking of moving up there to Susanville from southern california, what are some of the good and some of the not so good things about your town?

@tresfinas good things : everybody's (well not EVERYBODY) is nice pretty Mt Lassen is close and A LOT of trails and it snow's :D!!.

bad things : the cops are dicks i mean big dicks! and the rent you really high! and thats why all the good like 'Mom & Pop' close and it's really cold in the winter and fall and its really hot in the summer :D

Hey Idsapostle!! Thanks for the positive comments about The 'Ville. If I moved away, I'm sure that I would miss the snow too.  It's really great to have four full seasons to look foreward to every year!

I moved there in 1996 on a transfer to Lassen college and stayed until 2000, worked at round table delivering pizzas..I liked it for the most part I met some really good people up there and I will never forget them..I now live in Sunny Southern Cal but I miss the snow...I would have stayed but theres no work ecxept for the prison or Walmart ..maybe the casino I hear its gotten pretty big since I worked there. Thanks for the memories IrishMo48 I hope to go back and visit someday

Every day is trash day is Susanville---most of the people there are trash. What a shithole, filled with prison guards, hillbillies, and assholes. They should do nuclear testing in Susanville what a wasteland that hellhole is.

I also remember when that road wasn't there, but then again, I remember when WalMart wasn't there either. You're right about trash day. That had to have been a Trash Day Wednesday ... All of the trash cans are out by the curb to be picked up.

they should the other side of town... ive kived here for 13 years ill be out in 2 and off to college... i love this town. but theres more back roads then just the fue they show. this made me appreciate this place alittle more even though they took away our fun and games... susanville can be a fun town

Thanks! I'm a fan of Susanville too. That's my usual commute from breakfast at Watson's Cafe to work. The weather was so grey that day ... Was just amazing!
