He says he wants to shut down the EPA and DOE. The EPA is unfortunately necessary at this point. Education, in my opinion, is something that should left at the federal level to minimize belief system influence and create a level playing field across the nation. His ideas are too extreme. Bipartisan support will be nonexistent.

The stories I hear, and the mandates are unrealistic and do not work for all.

I don't want that to happen to other states. Standards to curriculum need to be set at a federal level where regional ideologies can be left out as much as possible. Encouraging creativity and scientific thinking is the job of the teachers and I think they should be held accountable for failing in that area.

All people said was that it was in retaliation. That it wasn't just a random act of violence. It was undoubtedly the most innocents killed by a terrorist attack in my lifetime, and to even think for one second that we were targeted for our freedom is ridiculous. @lnclincoln Personal beliefs inform actions, and in the political world, policy. He has denied evolution and climate change which, as a scientist, is horrifying. He says he wants to shut down the EPA and DOE. The EPA is unfortunately necessary at this point. Education, in my opinion, is something that should left at the federal level to minimize belief system influence and create a level playing field across the nation. His ideas are too extreme. Bipartisan support will be nonexistent.

@miniontemple Unfortunately the Federal Government's cookie cutter department of Education has resulted in a "no child left untested" mandate which encourages schools to limit creativity by removing arts and history to allow more time for teacher's to PROVE they are following the mandate. I have a family of teachers, all of which agree with Ron Paul's stance on removing the department of education from Federal control. The stories I hear, and the mandates are unrealistic and do not work for all.

Taking education out of federal control does not imply such policies will not be mandated at the state level. Maybe your state level government is intelligent but I live in Texas. The TBOE has implemented ridiculous revisions to the curriculum changing and almost completely clouding history and science based on religious ideologies.

I don't want that to happen to other states. Standards to curriculum need to be set at a federal level where regional ideologies can be left out as much as possible. Encouraging creativity and scientific thinking is the job of the teachers and I think they should be held accountable for failing in that area.

I didn't say 9/11 was deserved. It was an unfathomably EVIL, DESPICABLE, act of vengeance on innocents and that can never be justified.
I don't know why Bali or Spain was attacked. I don't know if it was Taliban, Al-Queda, or a completely isolated attack not related to the Jihad on the U.S.

@DolanMesko I can partially answer your question. Spain at one point was mostly a Muslim state, up until 1492 when the Catholic Kings kicked them out of Iberia. Osama Bin Laden re-instituted this holy war that had gone from the 8th century till the end of the 15th. And there you go, you learn something new everyday.

I called CNN after the debate to ask where the Debate Poll was. A kind lady from CNN told me that it was at the Bottom of their Home Page Under "Quick Vote". I told her that the question under the section "Quick Vote" on their home page said: "Did Rick Perry's debate performance solidify his front-runner status for the GOP presidential nomination?" The options where YES or NO.
I asked her if she was serious? She then directed my call to a voice-mail machine. Shame on you CNN!
