  • HELP ME. did Jackson die in the chancellorsville battle?

  • @tyletk no he died 8 days later because he required amputation but the surgery went wrong and he died from a deadly pnemonia

  • Yay...whacked out religiosos Jackson dies!!! Best thing that could have happened for this country. Frankly, he was too good a general--without him Lee was never as good again, as proven by his immense blunder at Gettysburg on Day 3. Lee mistakenly believed that his rebel troops were invincible and ordered Pickett's Charge--a monumental mistake. Longstreet was himself an excellent commander, but lacked the ability to convince Lee that Jackson had always had with him. Thank goodness.

  • who's the dumb shit that gave that order?

  • The South lost!!! So kiss my arse hillbilly's!!!!!!

  • As a practical matter, once a colony or territory joined the union, there was little chance that it would or could be allowed later to secede. That is just being realistic. Firing on Fort Sumpter was the wrong thing to do. The bottom line, despites protests to the contrary, was that the number one reason the South did all this was to try to retain slavery. The whole slavery question should have been settled by releasing the slaves and remaining in the Union.

  • @Boelcke1916 i agree Oswald Boelcke(love the name got the pour le merite tattoo on my arm) firing on sumter was wrong.. if they hadnt fired theres a chance the standoff would still be going on to this day.. it would be hard to get northern volunteers to invade their own country and kill their own people if they all knew that none had fired a shot yet.. they just excersisd their right to secede which was understood to be legal. northerners disliked blacks aswell, they def. didnt fight to free ne1

  • The South should have given up slavery. The North should have tried to negotiate, rather than going straight to war. Both sides were right. Both sides were wrong. In the end, all it the Civil War resulted in was death and devastation, and robbed the United States of great men like Thomas Jackson and Lewis Armistead.

  • I know how you racist southerners feel. As a black man I mourne the loss of MLK and Tupac Shakur the same way you miss jackson. But jackson was a terrorist traitor and tupac was an American

  • @mrose1506 I highly doubt putting Jackson and tupac in the same sentence is right, what MLK did was the right thing to do, what Jackson did was the right thing to do, those two men were Americans who stood up for what they believed in, tupac was just a dirty nigger who deserved to die.

  • @mrose1506 You are a fucking Idiot.!

  • @StonewallJackson26 Real articulate. Why don't you stop humping your sister for a minute to think of something more clever you inbred hick.

  • @mrose1506 You are a dumbass. A moron, with no historical reference. Arguing with a moron like yourself is futile. You don't think rationally.

Call me what you will fuckstick.

  • This is for those that think that Lincoln is such a saint

I am not in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office...I am not in favor of Negro citizenship." ---Abe Lincoln

Amend the Constitution to say it should never be altered to interfere with slavery." ---Abe Lincoln, December 24, 1860, presenting his stand on slavery to the Senate

  • @nicorett was anyone really a saint back then?

  • if jackson didnt die, the war would have been won in the Confederacy's favor.

  • My ancestors fought in the revolution.. they fought to make this a new nation. they fought in the war of 1812 to hold on to a brand new nation. They sadly destroyed the redman and turned a blind eye and a profitable hand to the enslavement of the black man. But one thing they weren't willing to do was to let you people take away any part fo the country they fought and bled for. Damn you people! Damn your arrogance in thinking you can take ANY part of my country from me. ANY part!

  • @chapdog82 My ancestors fought in the French-Indian war, the revolutionary war, the war of 1812, and then fought for the SOUTH... how dare you think you can control us and not give us our rights.

  • @richard4president

When they fought for the south they fought for the worst cause ever fought for. You would have North America divided and weak as opposed to United and Strong.

how dare you think you have the" rights" to enslave a whole race of people...and even the one's that didnt own one.. they they thought they had the right to be racially superior over them. Reconstruction proved how evil you people were.

  • @chapdog82 Not to mention that I can't stand Beck.

  • @chapdog82 it was fought over states rights idiiot

  • @guitarguy5 yes state rights to be able to spread slavery and maintain the proper racial order.. white on top.. black on the bottom. Whether you owned slaves or not... southern white men had a stake in the black man staying a slave.

  • if jackson lived the north would have lost for sure. no doubt about that, he was the reson the north was losen the was

  • I can understand you southern boys still being sore, but Johnny Reb and Billy Yank need each other. In these tough times we need to come together as a nation. Not neccisarily under the government as is. Us Yankees aren't big fans of it either.

  • @patsfreak

You sound like a McClellan man..

  • Don't you guys think this is a sad part of the movie where he gets shot.

  • I Didnt know Stonewall Jackson was killed by his own men....interesting...

  • if Jackson did not die we might have lost the war and there would be two states of america

  • That would suck. Go through a whole war, live through terrible battles, just to be killed by your own men through a tragic mistake.

  • After the First Bull Run, if the confederacy had pushed on into the north.

Also, if Jackson had survived Chancellorsville, Lee would might have occupied Maryland and Pennyslvania, effectively causing the union to sue for peace.

  • i agree. Jackson was a good commander and no one could not replace him after his death.

  • ill ask my mom who was in the regiment

  • Talk about taking out your own quarterback...

  • stone wall was my great grandad

  • sure

  • Are you proud that they screwed up so royally?

  • Wouldn't that alter events to some extent that could result in the Confederates being victorious?

  • nope, it would have definetly prolonged the war, but the south could not have won the war. they did not have the man power, the weapons or the provisions to sustain an army. grant still would have come east and i dont see any way the south could have manned and supplied an army.

  • The only way the south could have won was by public pressure of US citizens on Lincoln to make peace with the CSA. Or if Lincoln had lost the 1864 election to McClellan. Militarly it was impossible.

  • @badism

Very true, however, with the benefit of hindsight, had the Rebels been able to press forward after 1st Manassas, they very well may have captured Washington. With the fall of Washington, the Civil War might have ended in 1861. To your comment, public pressure would have led to it from a military victory.

  • Yes, yes, very correct. I meant to say after Gettysburg. :D

  • Great post, I have calculated that at least 16,500-20,000 fresh CSA troops arrived either the next day after 1st Bull, or days after.

The door to Washington City were wide open, at least take back Northern Virginia and keep the Potomac River as the border. Put the artillery on Lee's heights and you could throw shells in the White House or Capital.

The Confederates had captured the massive 30 Pound Parrot rifled cannon at 1st Bull Run, that would have done the job.

  • @rebel2276

Attacking DC was never the goal of VA's defenders, it was only to protect her borders by repelling the invaders. If DC had fallen, the US government would have moved back to Philly or another northeastern city, and I don't think that CSA control of the Potomac would have made a difference anyway, since they wouldn't have been able to hold it. With hardly a navy to speak of, it would have been re-taken by the US, just like the Mississippi. The war was a lost cause from the outset.

  • @byron84 I agree with you 110% on your post. Lee went into Pennsylvania on the largest supply raid on American soil. Lee needed to resupply his entire army and knew that June-July was harvest season. The Confederates took at least 15,000 horses, Hogs, Sheep, Cattle etc. All of that was sent to Winchester. Lee lost a chunk of his men but his army did survive and carried on to still fight.

  • @rebel2276

Self-government on the North American continent died the day Lee surrendered at Appomattox. If men like Jackson, Lee, and Patrick Cleburne, who all opposed slavery, were willing to die for the CSA, I wish that I could have possessed their courage and taken a Minie ball or two to fight for what was right. Slavery would have ended, just like it did everywhere else in the civilized world. People who worship Lincoln and laugh at the CSA's defeat don't understand the freedoms they lost.

  • One of my ancestors was a part of the group of soldiers that shot Jackson.

  • Excellent, I am calling on all, to submit their family in the war. Regiments etc.

  • you will find mine under the green flag of Eire ..Devine,,Col...Maj...Sgt..Cpl and 3 Ptes. To hell with telling me who was there.

  • What Irish regiment did they serve in?

  • Didn't some of them kill themselves? I believe they did.

  • Well, I know after the Jackson shooting, my ancestor was fired on by his own men because they mistook him for a Union Soldier.

  • Who are you suppose to be related to?

  • @TheGeneralHimself92

Did his men realized later on they fired at one of their commanding officers ?

  • @Briselance from haynes1776 The men of the 18th North Carolina, who bored the burden of accidently shooting Stonewall Jackson, probaly did not realized what has happened until the word came out. From what i heard one soldier was so full of greif and shame for what happended that he later committed suicide. Messed up, Huh?

  • child you are an ignorant little boy... i didnt say i was pissed... i just told you why lincoln wasnt a good president... i liked other presidents of the united states, such as FDR.. so get a life

  • lincoln is the worst president in history... he is the only one to raise an army to invade his own country and he only freed slaves in southern states not in the boarder states.. loser politician...

  • hey u cant say that; If it wernt for Lincoln, it would probaly still be the Union and Confederate States of America; Lincoln could only free the slaves in the south because all those border slave states in the north, he PROMISED them that they could keep their slaves if they joined the Union; He was one of the greatest Presidents in history! "A House Divided CAN NOT STAND!"

  • He promised them they could keep their slaves and you say he was the greatest? He played them and lied to the American people about wanting to free slaves. With your own statement you just admitted he had double standards about who could own slaves. Also, he could have finished this all peacefully, had he not raised an army to invade his own country.

  • First of all, at the begining, Lincoln had nothing against slavery, he just didnt want it to spread; The South seceeded not only because of slaves but mainly for political belifs and tariffs; what grade are u in anyways? And Lincoln never lied to the americans about freeing slaves; wat are u talking about? Lincoln just didnt want slavery to spread to the west;

  • first off "big guy" im in college... second off, he did lie since he "freed" the slaves in the south but not the north with the emancipation proclamation... what grade are you in? you obviously arent very bright... the war was mainly over state rights... and if lincoln didnt have anything against slavery why would he care if it spread or not? use some kind of standard when you come up with this logic of yours?

  • No Offense, U dont seem very mature to be in college; In the first comment u replied to me, u already triggered and insulted my views;

  • lol, you told him!

  • LOL you insulted me with the "how old are you anyway" comment so please you childish dick shit stfu.

  • he never said he was freeing slaves everywhere. He freed them in the South because he knew if the Confederates won they would never be free, while in the NOrth freedom would eventually come

  • Lincol personally abhorred slavery, but took the position that, as president, he had no consititional authority to end the practice. The Emancipation Proclamation was passed under the president'w war powers authority, which is why it only affected slavery in the states currnetly in rebellion. Slavery was not officially ended throughout the U.S. until abolished via passage of the Thirteenth Ammendent to the Consititution (which the Southern states ratified). Understand now, college boy?

  • It only affected the Confederate states because Lincoln didn't want to lose the support of the northen slave states for the war. It was all politics. He didn't give a piss about slavery and quotes at his own monument bare that out.

  • I agree, Badism, Lincoln was worried about anatgonizing the slave states that had stayed in the Union, particularly Kentucky and Missouri. Lincoln knew freeing the slaves, whether in the North or the South, could only be accomplished if the North first won the war. Lincoln was also a pragmatist. But I disagree with your assertion that Lincoln "didn't give a piss about slavery," as you so eloquently put it. What quotes supporting this claim, specifically, are you referring to?

  • "My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery"

  • "If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union."

  • "I shall do less whenever I shall believe what I am doing hurts the cause, and I shall do more whenever I shall believe doing more will help the cause."

    Nuff said.

  • @stflaw

Lincoln did not "personally abhor slavery." As a lawyer, he defended a slave owner named Robert Matson in a case in which the owner demanded the return of runaways. Lincoln was, by this time, already a wealthy and successful lawyer, but he took on the case to re-enslave a black family anyway! This just goes to show his complete and utter hypocrisy regarding slavery. Let's also not forget that Lincoln also allowed WV to illegally secede from VA and enter the USA as a slave state in 1862.

  • @stflaw actually Lincoln didn't abhor slavery, you just don't know history. He gave out special deals, and the proclamation didn't free anyone as southern states didnt see him as their president. Slavery wasn't ended until after Lincoln died. Also, most Confederate states were planning on ending slavery before the war but didn't want the Union controlling them. Understand now moron?

  • @richard4president The South intended to abolish slavery on its own? That is total revisionist BS. Lincoln did, indeed, abhor slavery. I could point to numerous statements Lincoln made on the subject, going further back even than the Lincoln - Douglas debates, but trying to reason with you is a waste of time. You armchair Confederates are just a big, sad joke. R.E. Lee, who lost everything in the war, was able to put the war behind him. Idiots like you would do well to follow his example.

  • @stflaw Yeah you need to go back to basic 9th grade high school. You are a sad joke and a pathetic brainwashed moron. Got it idiot? That's what I thought.

  • @richard4president nah dude revisionist idiots like you are the problem. Stop assuming everyone is a moron and reads books from 1960s about the causes of the war. Your history is just as clouded with agenda ridden brainwash bullshit as anyone else's.

  • @chapdog82 you are dumb, reading books from 1960 sure is gunna do something good for me huh.

  • @richard4president I highly doubt beck HATES the south but w/e...

People get on here that people dont know history.. that they were taught that Lincoln loved negroes and freed the slaves and that the north was perfect. People are not taught that. They're are taught that both sides were very evil. But most people aknowledge the Union wrongs. While most neo confeds will downplay ,deny or deflect any wrong doings. Stick to the combat dude cause when you guys start getting political u lose credit.

  • @stflaw No one cares about your moronic made up quotes. If you have to make up quotes, you are pathetic. You have no argument, get a life. Don't sit on youtube and push your socialist agenda all day. IDIOT.

  • @stflaw The south did intend to outlaw slavery dude, did you major history in college? Probably not, and Lincoln didn't care about slavery, he used it as a method to get re elected and because he was running low on troops. Don't throw out insults when you don't know what really happened.

  • @stflaw ok first thing is a /salut for your spelling =D

and then we got 2 quotes from Lincoln and i guess your grand general Grant

I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the States where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so."--Abraham Lincoln. March 4, 1861

If I thought this war was to abolish slavery, I would resign my commission, and offer my sword to the other side." --Ulysses S. Grant

  • @stflaw Lincoln did not hate slavery he considered whites to be a superior race and he wanted to deport all blacks off the CONTINENT! and since when did lincoln care about what the constitution limited him to do? he shut down northern newspapers that simply was critical of how we was handling the war. thats freedom of the press denied to law abiding northerners.. he refused right to due process, imprisoned maryland legislators without trial. 13th amendment was ratified by carpetbagger politics

  • actually uh no he couldn'thave. How could he have left peacefully and let the C. S. A. go and keep their cruel slavery habits? He was planning to end slavery everywhere, but the war came as a time to partly end it. And really it wasn't his own countryanymore if the confederate3s had stated that they were their own country. He had a duty as president to keep his country together.

  • And yet he said if he could save the Union by not freeing the slaves he would. It was all about politics. Even the EP was used as a means to keep support for his ever unpopular war going. Study real history and pass it along or all we'll have in 200 years are silly fairy tales and legends about great heros and villians. I'd rather have truth and facts.

  • I understand, but slavery would have faded in the south evetually, just as it has nearly everywhere else. There was no need for over 600,000 deaths and the illegal annexation and occupation of the sovereign and independent nation of the Confederate States of America.

  • Well wrote! I agree 110%

    Great post!

  • so what what would have happened to the country if mclellan had been elected instead of lincoln in 1864?

  • @richard4president Its been a year since you posted this comment but I agree 100%, he was a terrible president, but barely anyone knows the truth of what the Civil war was about and anything about Lincoln. They teach kids in schools that he did all these great things which is just brainwashing them, its sad really.

  • @XxPhillyGxX I'm glad someone agrees with me on that. Lincoln was definitely the worse president... that is after Obama...

  • @richard4president Hmm I think that as far as I know Obama doesn't lock people up in jail, but he is doing other things so there tied as bad presidents in my book.

  • @XxPhillyGxX Instead, Obama has his Department of Justice say "If the defendent is black and the victim is white, we will not prosecute the black defendent." Then they go and try to deport Christians who converted from Islam, but when it comes to Mexican Illegals, they want amnesty for all. Not even to mention he's spending millions of taxpayer dollars to reconstruct, repair, and build 65 mosques all over the world. This is not even talking about all the tax hikes and the healthcare bill.

  • @XxPhillyGxX This is why i rank Obama as bad as Lincoln

  • @richard4president I agree, Obama is a really crappy president, we can only hope that in 2012 people come to there senses and vote him out. If not it is going to take even longer to fix all the things he's done wrong. We can always hope that if things do get terrible, Texas will leave the Union and we can live there :P

Since in there constitution from when they where there own country would allow them to leave.

  • @XxPhillyGxX Yes, they have already threatened to withdraw. I would hope that states like Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, and Tennessee would follow suite, Constitutional amendments can be made ya know :P Then I'd be happy, being from Alabama.

  • @richard4president Sucks that I'm in Florida xD If it weren't for south Florida Ex: Miami, we would still be a Red state, instead all the people down south voted Democrat because they like getting free handouts from the government. I plan to move to Texas anyways, after I do my service though.

  • @richard4president Don't forget about Virginia my friend, where I was born, in Richmond the former capitol of the CSA, and raised in Williamsburg where I still reside which is the colonial capitol of America which is where it all began in 1607, none the less the Commonwealth is very Confederate oriented and could leave the union too, it was here in Virginia that our governor, Bob Mcdonnell who is great at his job created, in Virginia, a Confederate history month in April, although it got

  • @RevBillyRayCollins That's great, I wish some of these people leaving hate comments would actually research history instead of acting like the history books were written by God Himself.

  • @richard4president backlash from the African American community and, what a surprise, Barrack Obama, the Governor believed it was the right thing to do as do I, I do not know if you have ever been to the Commonwealth before but with the many Civil War battlefield parks and shrines to many Confederate generals and schools named after those same generals it is a very Confederate friendly state, and since the Gov, Lt Gov, and Att Gen are all Republican they seem to go against all of Obama's actions

  • @richard4president which is fine by me. Hopefully in the next presidential election we can elect Ron Paul since he is a Libertarian for states rights.

  • @richard4president oh boy a tea partier...

Guess what buddy you're not oppressed like our forefathers were by England.. Get over!

I suppose you were in DC riding on Glen Becks fake religious rally this weekend too.

  • @chapdog82 Actually, I'm not a tea partier... Glenn Beck hates the south... once again... showing how dumb you are.

  • the south will rise again, and sooner than you think, and you bluebellies , wont be making jokes when you get a confederate boot up your yankee ass!

  • now see, there you just sound like an ignorant redneck. Statements like that do not give your new confederate country you speak of much respect already.

  • except there are dozens and dozens of countries that would go to the Norhtern side or pro-union side to prevent anything as tragic and awful as another Civil War from happening again. The South wil and cannot win again. All are equal. Untied we stand and have stood through many things

  • may we not forget today in this year of 2009 that history is repeating itself texas is talking seccession and if they do i beleave there will be another war between the states i myself am a born virginian and if the empire tries to take over texas if they do leave the union i beleave VA and other states will support texas . God help us all if it happens again .

  • Though I have to say that even after the war, southerners made things like "the black codes" because they didn't and still don't think african americans are equal to whites, which is completely and utterly untrue. But they fought for what they believed in. MOst didn't even own slaves. Confederate cause was mostly about families and their rights.

  • True, yes, but most men in the Confederate cause fought only to defend their homes and their country.Half were under seventeen!I mean, they didn't know about all the complicated politics that led to the war, they just wanted adventure or a new life or to protect their farms and families.

  • u cant help but think what would have happened if jackson had lived

  • It annoys the shit out of me when people say "The South Will Rise Again!" Get real. People have been saying that since the end of the Civil War 144 years ago. If it hasn't happened by now, it never will.

Great film. Stephen Lang was especially good as Jackson, and I was glad to see Jeff Daniels return as Chamberlain.

It's unfortunate that The Last Full Measure will probably never be made, and it's even more unfortunate that the director's cut of Gods and Generals hasn't been released.

  • And I'm about sick of hearing about Germans thinking they are going to rise again. Shit your country killed more Jews then Africans slaves were in America.

If you don't like "The South Will Rise Again" then don't come on a Thomas Jackson site. Head on over to Lincoln or some Union site.

  • Glad to hear it, because I know Germany won't rise again like it did in 1933. And you might want to recheck that statistic. Roughly 10 million African slaves died in the Atlantic Slave Trade; 5.5 million Jews died during the Holocaust (there were'nt 6 million killed; the other .5 million consisted of gypsies, homosexuals, and political enemies).

Hopefully you've learned something, but ignorant hicks tend not to put much value on facts, especially in this case since it doesn't involve 'Merica.

  • The screen name reflects my choice on who's side I like. I live in Washington Dc, if that is "hicks, then you have never been here before.

Don't judge people you do not know. I had the most family fight on the Union side during the war. Last name "Prouty" take your time look it up. Around 200 fought and died for their cause.

  • Unfotunately... i doubt indeed it will ever rise again.

  • Im a proud supporter of the Confederate Flag and you are 100% right when The South Will Rise Again statement is so counter productive toward the Haritage not Hate movement. That 3:40 seconds changed the history of america. I Jackson were at Gettysberg the South may have won that battle .

  • I dont know about that, many people are starting to get pissed the way Obama is runing thing into the ground and all our debt. Not to mention american is Turning toward a Socailism.

Im not saying there are going to be any rebelions, im just stateing, that if there where to be one, my bet is on Dixie.

  • Such a shame that Turner productions had to go and get a woody over the southern cause. Not sure what the hell their direction was, but it made next to no sense to do a giant Stonewall strokefest ten years AFTER they did Gettysburg.

It's no friggin' wonder the third film never happened.

  • i see what you mean, however, the only problem i have with obama is him closing guantanamo bay. apparentally, he wants terrorists to recive the same treatment as a normal u.s. citizen. that is not right. anyway, he has been drawing alot of attention ever since he was elected, i hope he does a good job. we will just have to wait and see.

  • the south will rise again, that is a garantee, that fagot lincoln deserved to be killed.

God bless and save the South from the hands of every damn federal lovin', piss of shit yankee that walks the earth.

  • What an ignorant asshole redneckhunter81. Get an education. Im glad Obama is president so this crap doesnt fly around as much anymore.

  • i dont remember who asked for your fucking oppinion. the american people are stupid for electing obama, why? because he is gonna get assassination. With all these damn, know-it-all white groups running around, everybody who voted for obama basically voted for the next-to-be assassinated president. i dont want to see another innocent man killed by stupid assholes like the KKK, and the skinheads. But now that we have a african-american president, he is gonna get killed somehow. everybody knows it.

  • No one asked, but in this country I can say whatever I want. And youre retarded if you vote based on whether you think he'll be assassinated, we have the best damn secret service in the world. The point is that american voters put their trust in who they think can lead, and he puts his trusts in the secret service, which I might add has a pretty good record. He is probably the most protected man in the world, if not the western hemisphere.

  • President Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest men who ever lived. If the South really was the best, then it would have won now, wouldn't it? I had family, lots of family that fought for the south, but it will not rise again. The U. S. is the best country in the world, and the South cannot survive alone. and 144 yrs ago, get over it. Every one is equal. Enough of our families died over the feud, no more should now.

  • how in the hell can you say that lincoln was one of the greatest people who ever lived? did you know that he imprisoned people who disagreed with him? and they were people who fought for the damn union! lincoln is the cause of this damn corrupted government of the united states. texas has several secession movements around, and they will soon start the rebirth of the greater confederacy, a government more pure and just than the united states!

  • Cmon. they couldn't do any beter than we are now. The economy sucks major and the global warming issues is cracking everyonein congress over the head, making a new, "better confederacy" would just be another government having to deal with the same issues, except they'd be ALONE. Why not fix the world together instead of making a whole new country. And more just? like how? The united states IS the most just you can get in the world, mostly.

  • fuckin redneck southner

  • you gotta problem with me being a proud southerner? a person being proud of his heritage?

  • ur probably some douche who flies the confederate flag in his backyard and hates african americans and lincoln

  • i do fly the confederate flag, and for your fucking information, i have friends that are black that are not offended at all by the great confederate flag, as toward hating lincoln, yes, i hate that bastard, why? he cost a country its freedom from the empire we know as the united states of america.

  • You are allowed to be prud of your heritage but not in a way thatistreasonous against your own country because you think you can make a better one. I don't think any african americans wouldlike to bein the new country you speak of because they will most probably not be treated equally.

  • There was NOTHING in the Constitution that disallowed the South from seceding from the Union...and that is plain fact.

Sounds like you would have fought for the Brits ! After all, the Revolution against King George made "traitors" of the Founding Fathers...

  • who?

  • U.S. is not the best country in the world..if you want to be objective then this thing dont even mention..But I agree with the rest..though I like South..

  • cmon, then what country? What other one was conceived with the thought of libertY, religious freedom and unlimited rights? ZERO.

  • haha that sucks killed by his own men a little ironic since he was a stonewall and ended up dying from friendly fire

  • okay, enough about the South! The war is over, the south didn't win because the North wasn't willing to lose any federal territory and the southern government never enforced a drafting system for their soldiers (many of the Virginians left the army after Bull Run thinking the fighting was over).

  • Hey The civil war is over. im no southern but i can tell u that stonewall was killed by his own men. im srry if this hurts u in anyway but the south wont rise until history repeats.

  • That war will never end until the Confederacy is liberated from Federal occupation. Don't fool yourself yankee we are not "one nation" nor shall it ever be so.

  • uh dude im no yankee look at my other videos i am a southern boy

  • Connell1967, you're right. I was born in CA and my parents are from Mexico, so I have an outsiders perspective. I live by the principles of freedom. If the confederate states ever comeback, I'll be the first to apply for citizenship.

    lmfao..

you people are pathetic. One day your kids genes will breed in with someone that's not and inbred twit.. and realize this is the greatest country on the planet. You people are too few and will be extinct soon enough. trust that buddy the real world, the modern world, is all around you. here we mix races, cultures and we say to hell with our parent's stubborn ignorance and intolerance. you and your kinds days are numbered.

  • What the hell do you people mean "we"? If you hadn't noticed, you're all apart of the Union now, like it or not. You guys honestly still believe in secessionism? So you can have your slaves and plantations because thats what you would be fighting for. Catch up with the times people, the war is over.

  • If Jackson had not been killed I firmly believe that he could have reinforced Lee at Appomattox, or possibly prevented that incident alltogether, a brilliant millitary mind, cut down by his own men. If he had survived we most likely would have won.

    God save the South.

  • yes i know one of our greatest losses if only he lived we would be free

  • @halolord66 Free? Free to do what exactly?

  • The south is done. The War does not matter. There is still the southern states but the war is over. THere are a lot of Northern people watching this so stop posting these comments about seccession. You should look at all the blood on these general's hands. They killed men by the thousands with one sentence, they lost hundreds with words. I'm from New Jersey but I liked Virginia though.

  • Whats sad im from NC and he was shot from men from NC.I wish we had men with values like Stonewall and Lee.God save our south

  • yes it was sad if he lived im sure we could have won the war

  • It's spooky that almost a year later in 1864, General James Longstreet was wounded in the same manner not far from the spot where General Jackson was wounded.
