  • My favorite band of all time! Their LP is amazing! There's also a great Meat Puppets song that pops up seemingly out of nowhere on it that momentarily drops you back to reality.

  • Loved these guys. Saw them at LB State (and maybe the Press Club?) Have the 7 inch with "Beak," one of my favorite songs of all time. I'd never seen this clip before... thanks!

  • When did this concert take place?

  • ...Green on Red and Ella and the Blacks!

  • the drummer is Keith Mitchell who played with Clay Allison, Opal and Mazzy Star!

  • If anyone has an extra LP, I'd like to replace the one that my employee stole from me. I helped construct their garage into a practice room, many yrs ago.

  • My band the Tiki Gods played with Monitor sometime in 79 or 80 at Long Beach State Univ. I/ve loved them ever since. I burned theirLP onto CD and listen to it when I want to go to a "dark place". Their music is frightening!

  • "world imitation" is the name of thier label and art collective. Album is s/t.

  • Check out their album entitled WORLD IMITATION. I got it that time. :)

  • I saw them a few times, most notably with Victory Acres and Young Marble Giants, opening up for Cabaret Voltaire back on 10/29/1980 at Sokol Hall in LA.

That clip was from "New Wave Theater", there's ol' Peter Ivers at the end.

  • this band had a bizarre affinity for the early punk version of the meat puppets - even included one of their songs on their album, i think. hard to think of two bands further apart in style.

  • definitely from new wave theatre - broadcast nationwide on the usa network's "night flight" - i saw it in montana circa 1984

  • Another interesting band lost in the late-70s SoCal punk/new-wave shuffle. They remind me of Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd.

  • this is amazing! too bad they only released one album.

  • plus a single as Monitor and a single as the Tikis

  • pretty sure it's from new wave theatre

  • Holllyyyy sheitttt!!!!.....>Is this that L.A. Press Club show????

  • I loved this band.............GREAT VIDEO...want to see more PLEASE

  • we get messages.
