I wish this was the stuff I started playing first rather than getting to it the long way, I'm just glad that I did discover this kind of music somehow, someway!

Well, It is interesting to go back and see the side of these guys that was being marketed (intentionally or not) as a "Christian" group. As Derek Webb says, how can music be Christian? How can it have personal salvation? Anytime the term "Christian" is used for something other than a person, it is a marketing term.
then chris thile broke up with god, got a divorce, assembled the most badass musicians in the world and produced the greatest piece of acoustic music ever of 40 minutes in 4 suites
