you do have to pay for sum books however they also offer alot of free ebooks especially the classics if your in to that time of novels. i have the k3wifi 3g and its awesome you should get one. c;
I don't understand what's so wonderful with electronic paper; I don't see much of a difference with an LCD without back illumination. Also, I don't see the advantage to reading without the uniform illumination of a backlight. Who knows, maybe I should see a Kindle personally instead of staying just with the video image?
What sim does the kindle use for 3g ? Does it charge if I use it for reading news and facebook and check my email also ? please answer guys. Thank you

I have the 3G version & it's great & very very quick. Easy to buy books & a very quick connection with the 3G, super fast. This version is also much safer since it's smaller, especially if you fall asleep in bed while reading if it falls onto your face you won't get a black eye lol
3g is "worldwide," that is, wherever you can get 3g reception (without trees, tunnels, etc interfering) you can download books. Either the 3g or wireless is extremely slow when trying to surf the web, but that's not what the product is designed for.
@MaddieKatz Don't quote me on this, but I think that the Kindle Wi-Fi version and the Kindle 3G + Wi-Fi version are the same size. The speed depends on your Wi-Fi Connection, but I think that Wi-Fi is faster than 3G speed if you have a reasonable internet connection. :)
I'm looking to upgrade eReaders (Got the older Sony Pocket Reader, the now-discontinued PRS-300). The DRM locking and lack of ePub support is the main reason I've shied away from Kindle so far. It is cheaper than the current Sony Pocket Reader (PRS-350) and widely used/supported though. Hmm, decisions.
If sony added 3g or wifi i think more people would of bought the sony pocket e-reader, for 3 pounds extra you can get the 3g kindle plus month lasting charge. Stupid sony
One of the biggest things keeping me from getting a Kindle is the lack of adding extra storage, sure 3500 books is good but i find on average the AVERAGE length of things is very smal, take a "song" on an iPod , they consider an average song 3 minutes. I am sure if your into Fantasy books which are often thousand pages you arnt getting 3500 books on it
@KevinPatrickCarey it has 3.3GB of storage, that's a lot of text bro. You are somewhat right, they want to advertise the best number they could get, but it's not horribly over exaggerated.
@parkxi its like reading a normal book without light. Black light dammages your eyes thats why Dr's say don't stay on the pc longer than 1hr, the kindle has no back light so your eyes are safe so yes you need some sort of natural light to read.
Thank you. This was very helpful. I've wanted a Kindle since they first came out about four years ago, but the 400 buck price tag prevented me from buying one.
For me, I think the Kindle is the right choice. I know a lot say to get an Ipad instead. I'm not interested in all of theat. I'm a voracious reader who wants an alternative to a physical book because of clutter. I want a dedicated ereader that's easy on my eyes and my wallet and won't take a degree to work it.
@lollipop1234ize There is no video but you can get books, magazines, newspapers, Games, MP3's(MP3's have to be downloaded from Mac or PC). It works well but I would not get the Lighted Leather Case that Amazon makes. It is overpriced and it doesn't hold your Kindle in a safe way.
@lollipop1234ize Kid, you should be into books. Once you learn how to write properly, you can try some games too...
Oh, yeah - in case you can't understand English, the Kindle is nothing more but a digital book reading device, not a mumbo-jumbo to play and listen music or watch movies, doooh!
Thanks for that review was greatly apprecitated, informative, and clear. But one question, do you have to pay for the "3G" conncetion on the "3G + Wi-FI" Kindle?
@luvkarate2 You're probably better off getting an inexpensive netbook. Kindle does not have anything in the way of a text editor. The qwerty keyboard on it is used for typing in keywords for Amazon/Wikipedia searches as well as annotations. Hope this helps :)

Very nice video on this Kindle.
I have the NookColor with wifi which is awesome for reading and surfing the internet--and it also has Flash Player for watching movies, etc.
I 'm partial to it since I can see my photo portfolios in color.
The book downloads may take a short time before it arrives on Nook's bookshelf.
Also has new Apps, as well as Pandora.
It doesn't have Text to Speech.
I ordered this Kindle 3g with Wifi --I like the idea of text to speech,
and the ability to use it anywhere.
