A beautiful collection of photographs/memories. Yes, it is a wonderful song, that never ceases to bring chills. Was in an Irish Pub in Brugges, Flanders and the singer did this an it was quite evocative.
Having lived in France for many years and having the privilege of being friends with fine Irish ex-pat folk there, listening to this ballad brings me back to the eerie autumn afternoon when I first visited the fields of Verdun.
As clean and pristine as those acres of graves were...looking over the hills you could still hear the screams.
I'm now at my desk...but part of me feels the crisp chill of that autumn day at the monument to one of man's most useless wars.
Great video, like a time machine. Then with the pics acually being of family you can feel the emotion . The ending " Do they even know, JUST why they died. Did you really belive that this war would end wars; it all happened again and again .... "
Makes me laugh when young kids in the streets of the cities with trousers around their arse call them selves Soldiers. They should all watch this vid. 5 Stars.
Thanks for the lovely comments about this video. this is my daughters own interpretation of WW1, most of the photos are our own family and so this video is very emotive.

In proud and loving memory-
Vol.Robert Anderson, 10th Btn.
Royal Inniskilling Fusileers, cut down at the Somme, 1st july 1916, and his brother
Archie (also 10th Btn.) who fell at St.Quentin. and to the memory of all the men of the 36th Ulster Division,
we will never forget our lost generation,

The so called Great War must have been the insanest war of all wars. Great tribute to all the soldiers that was sacrified.
