  • 1:23 2 Crashs?!?! WTF!!!!

  • one day, naughty dog will get the hell out of uncharted and buy back the rights to Crash Bandicoot. until then? a man can only dream...

  • @CiaranConnollyIdeals Unfortunately, that itself seems like only a dream. =/ Uncharted has been so successful I don't see Naughty Dog even considering it.

Still, Jason Rubin and Andy Gavin have expressed interest in working on future Crash games, so it might not all be over!

  • @LXShadow If they did buy it back, they better as hell get Mark Mothersbaugh to write the music again.

  • @CiaranConnollyIdeals I'd agree, but if we can just get a good new, innovative, classic-style Crash game, then I'll be happy. If we're lucky - and I have extreme doubts - maybe Activision can provide that.

Only time can tell what'll really happen to our favourite marsupial... for better or worse =/

  • @CiaranConnollyIdeals 1 thing at a time eh

  • is the demo version realsed

  • @james100681 Well, the one I got this trailer from was released, although it wasn't easy to find.

The version(s) of the game shown in this video weren't publicly released - that's what betas are all about!

  • memories this was my frist crash bandicoot game

  • classic

  • i just don't get it at all. I mean, the loading times on this game are great. I don't understand why people say it takes way too long, because it doesn't. I think it's just people being inpatient, sadly enough.

  • @vheartscrash While I wouldn't call the game unplayable, it would have been much easier without them. =P Traveller's Tales could have done a better job with the loading screens; in terms of their technology they're really not too great IMO.

  • @LXShadow Taking into the count that Wrath of Cortex was rushed, and Travelers tales only had 12 months to prepare and develop the game.

It was good, but could have been much better, and faster.

  • @vheartscrash well in xbox360 version theyre not long but in ps2 version yes :D + theyre so colorful that i get headache from watching it 5 seconds, and it lasts over 1½ minutes -.-

  • This game just wasn't the same as the Naughty Dog ones. And the load times, at least on ps2, were a minute or more, which made it pretty much unplayable. Too bad.

  • I thought that coco is his wife...

  • 0:34 did he just pull a wumpa fruit out of his ass? 0.o wtf

  • what's the music

  • Stop Playing With My Sister....oh dear.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Hansen.

  • Beta version :D

  • @JoeTheDragon1000 I think it's a beta version of the level ending. Unfortunately it was cut or changed- so it's not really in anyone's game.

  • I love traellers tales

  • Probably the only non-Naughty Dog game to come close to one of the originals. Best non-Naughty Dog one too in my opinion, although I did love Crash Twinsanity because of the character cameo appearances and etc.

  • at 1:23, who's in the other cart? he looks like a bigger version of crash

  • @FanofCrash25

I warn you that this is a SPOILER when I tell you this (though not a big one):

    If you're ready, read on.

That is Crunch, Crash's newest opponent (basically the only one, though the old ones get small appearances in some levels D: ) In one of the extra levels, Crash has to race him in a mining cart. That's what you saw.

  • The same company that made the shitty Spyro Enter The Dragonfly.

  • @HyperSonicXtreme Thankfully not! This game was developed by Traveller's Tales; Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly was developed by Equinoxe Digital Entertainment and Check Six Studios.

  • @LXShadow

Nevermind Universal Interactive Studios were the the publishers for both games.

  • @HyperSonicXtreme They were the publishers for the first ones as well. =P

  • Crash Bandicoot 3.5: The Wrath of Cortex is a good game. This trailer is very cool.

  • what level is at the time 0:21

  • @meanbeanmachine123 Wizards and Lizards, I think.

  • @LXShadow ya its the beta verison

  • very simple........CRASH TWINSANITY was the BEST CRASH BANDICOOT GAME THAT WASNT MADE BY NAUGHTY DOG!!!! Traveler's tales did a VERY good job with that game, its just pure awesome, THIS GAME on the otherhand, is ok......i'd say traveler's tales was the best company that owned the crash bandicoot series.....radical FUCKED IT UP.......

  • Stop playing wit my sister! lol.

  • out of contact that sound like a sex thing 1:15

  • @lookman373 Or Shrek without the greasy part.

  • Awesome, a beta trailer! Added to favs ^^

  • Stop playing with my sister :P XD

  • This game LOOKS good... until you play it.

This is one of two games I have played that frustrates me in the way of gameplay and graphics. What made it even worse for me is that it was a CB game! XD The other I played and considered just as bad was Spyro; Enter the Dragonfly. BY GOD I have to say that one was the worst of the two games.

At least the people who made this tried though. I mean it was their first game onto the PS2 I think.

    Nice trailer. :)

  • @secseear Thanks!

I think the game would have been better if Traveller's Tales had more time to work on it. In the earliest versions of the games there would have been storylines and mini-bosses in less linear levels, but unfortunately TT wouldn't have had enough time to finish them in the end - they were only given a year.

Crash Twinsanity was TT's second attempt, though, and if you ask me it went quite well. If you haven't played it yet, and are a fan of Crash, I'd recommend it!

  • @LXShadow I loved Crash Twinsanity!Especially with the funny glitches where you can take cortex anywhere with you.

  • @LXShadow yh ct was great

  • @LXShadow From what I heard the changes were made because developers were afraid of alienating fans with new concepts ironically enough. I suppose it made some sense since it was the first multi console title and they probably wanted to introduce new gamers to the series' key mechanics, unfortunately it lacked the ND games polish, it looked horrible cosmetically, some mechanics felt clunkier and most new innovations they did keep were poor (eg. Coco is basically a weaker version of Crash).

  • @ToonReel001 It's hard to tell. At an early stage they were thinking about those new concepts, but something clearly stopped them in their tracks. They might have indeed wanted to avoid breaking the Crash formula, or perhaps they simply didn't have enough time to find a way to do it right... and polish it as well.

  • @LXShadow Perhaps, at the very least they may have planned on developing certain elements more (there are some extra animations for Coco in the games memory suggesting she was meant to be more playable). Even at that though I think one of it's big problems is that it doesn't quite look and feel like a Crash title. Nitro Kart is similarly basically a next gen remake of CTR but at least went the whole hog and replicated ND's charm and detail well. WoC just comes off as a cheap spin off style wise.

  • @ToonReel001 Which animations are you referring to? There are some warp room animations that were never used (why they didn't implement them, I don't know), but that's all I found. Are there any others in specific?

CNK had some help with its art style as Charles Zembillas was involved. ND is an AAA company, though, and to be honest I wouldn't expect TT to be able to replicate their sort of quality. Still, I think they'd have done better if they had more time. I blame Universal for this.

  • @LXShadow That might be all there is, I'm just saying it might suggest they planned to develop her more. It seems odd to make you play a downgraded Crash for a handful of levels anyway. Same for the mech.

Bash also replicated the style rather well, as did Twinsanity (at least level/scenery wise). WoC just seemed kinda generic and basic. The character models were technically authentic but to the crappy CG promo art used in manuals rather than the original games, hense why they look disfigured.

  • lmfao that was awsome

  • @LXshadow by new i meant MoM and CoTT.

  • wtf? 1:32 tiny miniboss?/sub boss? p.s. @atomickid GET A LIFE. the new crash bandicoots are WAAY better then the old stuff. you don't die in one shot, better graphics, and crash looks AWESOME!!!

  • @yo10057 1:32 is Medieval Madness. Some of the previous games' bosses appear in those levels.

Also, atomickid was talking about this game, not necessarily the ones after this. In this game you die in one shot, and the graphics and Crash look pretty much as they did in the original games. =P (Save for a higher resolution.)

  • @yo10057 the new are better than the old??? wtf...

  • its the last of the best crash bandicoot.

  • Awesome :D

  • hey stop playing with my sister OMG I THINK THAT WAS CRASHS VOICE OMG OMG OMG

  • it looks different?

  • Crash: Stop playing with my sister!

    Me: NO! >=D

  • why was the gameplay different then what i play?

  • @xxNINAxxCORTEXxx caus this isnt gameplay

  • "Hey stop playing with ma sister" LOL 5 Stars

  • did anyone notice how Crash ran is this video? in the final version (no offense to Crash) he runs like a retard, also i just heard Crash say ''hey! stop playing with my sister''

  • I don't know why most of the people hate this game!

To me it was ok,just like the previous episodes.

  • why does this look so much better than the final game?

    01:24

lol? Crash 2 instead of Crunch XD?

  • @PeteThePlayer

becauze it want finished think of it like a cake without frosting to finish it

  • Beta-version trailer? But whatever, it's fun!

  • At 0:41 you can see that the whumpa counter is green where as in the other trailer it is orenge. Also at 0:45 crash looks like hes doing his run in the final version and you can hear the making a noise like a donkey insted of being mute.

  • Uhm.

Traveller's Tales made Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. Not Eurocom- they just ported some of the non-PS2 versions.

Please keep the unnecessary swearing to a minimum...

  • It takes 25 seconds to load the first level

  • @atomickid why is it a disappointment I enjoyed it

  • The BETA warproom at 1:49 looks really cool. I think they should've kept the game how it was when it was before the game was actually released [beta (work in progress)] because it looks way more exciting in my opinion.

  • And the Ghost Town look looks cool.

  • If only this game was releasd how it was in this trailer... with co-op.

  • Welldone for getting this up. This was only found on GS in the past.

    5*

  • Thanks! But this isn't actually on GameSpot (if that's what you mean). This version of the trailer has a much higher resolution, and quite a lot of different footage from 0:42 onwards.

It also doesn't show the player using the Lift Player cheat... twice!

  • I don't remember at all the 0:30 one !

  • That's Crash and Burn. That area hadn't actually changed much in the final version.

  • The number of beta levels which are not beed released in the retail version is amazing ! So bad we can't go through them, they look very interessant though

  • Actually, here's a fun fact for everyone: I don't think any of the levels in this trailer are cut, different as they are. The only ones that I think may have been cut or replaced is the Compactor Reactor-like level at 1:42 and the Warp Room at 1:49. The rest of them do appear in the final game (though very different, of course).

  • Total Nice! What program u Use to makethe Video? =)

  • The video was a .PSS file, so I googled a program that can convert them. I think it was called something like "PSS Splitter". After that I converted it into .WMV.

(But sorry if you thought I made the video by myself - I didn't.)

  • Holy crap!

  • humaraga!

  • Cool vide there were lots of stuff I hadn't seen before (they have actually changed a lot of things for the final version).
