I'm going to the Seattle show in 1 week. I am so excited. I saw them at the Gorge in WA a few years ago. The best live show ever. I can't fucking wait. I might shit my pants.
@SolidSnake98 lol the background music was pretty good, but I really could've gone w/out MC Dalek's vocal noise and the Oktopus humping at the table in the background though. And for the record, I enjoy a lot of hip-hop, just not Dalek :D
@perona13 Well I respect your opinion. You we're in the minority then that night I think. :P One who could at least attempt to try and like it. Dalek definitely is a grower for most people. What are some hip-hop artists that you like? :)
@SolidSnake98 Well I dunno if you wanna include rap music in hip-hop, as many people don't. But basically I like most Eminem, some Haiku D'Etat, most 90's rap and hip-hop, Fort Minor, Black Sheep, Swollen Members, De La Soul, and even one Dalek song that I can't recall the name of. And again, a lot of that might not even be able to be considered as hip-hop at all hehe. I tried to get into it that night, and I was feelin' the beats and BASS, but I really couldn't even understand the guy lol
@perona13 Rap is commonly mistaken as a genre, but it's actually just a part of hip-hop. We can just refer to it as hip-hop. :P That's nice man, you got a good solid foundation for hip-hop. Seems like quite the variety, so thumbs up to you! Yeah, that was my complaint too, you couldn't quite make out the vocals lol. Luckily, I knew some of those songs already though! :P To me, the DJ was more of the centerpiece, he was quite active up there. Quite refreshing for a change!
This was the best TOOL show out of the 3 times I have seen them. It was worth the $400 bucks I spent for tickets! I enjoyed the set list but I agree with Dimes329, it was pretty close to the same we have been seeing. I really wanted to hear at least one song from Opiate. I would like to see them change it up a little more. They have so many great songs to chose from. They totally rocked and it was so cool to be in the 10th row!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Thats the exact same set they've been playing since 2007, are you kidding me? They dont care anymore they do nothing to change it up. Its really ashame.
what setlist are you looking at? the new tour is the setlist that starts with Third Eye. its a completely different set from 2007. Aenima heavy setlist.
This is the set list from 2007 and from last summers tour. With the exception of floor for rosetta stoned its exactly the same. This is what I mean when I say there slacking they havent chaned the let list in three years.
Dimes, the setlist so far this tour has been as follows: 1. Third Eye 2. Jambi 3. Stinkfist 4. Vicarious 5. Eon Blue Apocalypse 6. The Patient 7. Intolerance 8. Schism 9. Forty-Six & 2 10. Lateralus 11. Aenema. Believe me, they still care. Maynard's heart and soul was in it when I saw them last night. They were all phenomenal. Best Tool show I've seen to date.
@surfrusty12 best part was when maynard came out and said " for the next 2 hours, we will pretend like everything is ok". i was like , hells yea and after the show its back to bp fucking the world up one iol pipe at a time. TOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes! This show was so sick. I was there for the first showing at UNO Lakefront. I can't believe they opened with Third Eye, Ive been waiting my whole life to hear that live. If only they would have played Pushit. Maybe in another life. Yet overall, the show was stunning. Maynards' vocals were stellar, and the band played like a jam session. Great show! Thank you Tool, for everything.
I was there, two sections to your right. All-in-all, it was a great performance. This was my 10th time to see them, and if I were going to rank the shows, I'd say this one falls between 5 and 7. I would like to have seen Danny solo a bit more. When the took their short break, I expected him to sit down and improv. Maynard's voice sounded good, but he was avoiding hitting many of the notes that make his vocals so powerful. This video is a prime example because he let the crowd sing the last line
yea i saw that tour last year at Lollapalooza and this years tour is by far much better. i guess the extra screens and lasers made a difference. plus the crazy visuals.
Those are some sick visuals. Growing progressively more dismayed that I'll be in Europe when Tool is in the states. Why couldn't they have played SF or Sacramento in August. Oh well... Two shows already under my belt, I can live. But that setlist....
glad to see the set up is different from last years mini summer tour, lights, screens. gonna catch them later this week at red rocks, san fran then vegas!
wish i could have recorded more. too worried about the experience. To any one going to the future shows on the tour, RECORD THIRD EYE. first song on the set.
@Dimes329 At Lollapalooza. same as the 10000 days tour with some modifications. Jambi Stinkfist Forty-Six & Two Schism Rosetta Stoned Flood Ænema Lateralus Vicarious
I went to this too. I loved this concert, but I really wish the mic Maynard had was clearer. Then the show would have be beyond perfection. And I thought it was going to be a hell of a lot louder than it actually was, but it still managed to sound great.
Saw them in Houston last night. This band is ALWAYS epic!!! I was front row center. It was amazing being able to see Adam, Maynard, Danny & Justin interact with each other throughout the show. Really gives you a feel of how connected they are. Tool is PHENOM!!!
Amazing video of an epic show. Drove from Tampa Bay to see them (drive time was longer than we were actually in N'orleans) The setlist was incredible, and the added a few older tunes to the rotation which rocked. AND....they seemed to be having a blast up there which showed in the music...Thanks for sharing the vid
Holy shit... that looks so unbelivable, only wish MJK finish the song, i saw them back in 2006 and six, the 'smallest' TOOL gig you can get in terms of lightning and stuff, no lasers, but i'm glad i saw that gig, one of the best Sober performances ever, MJK sang everything except for scream at the end of Rosetta Stoned, VERY hardcore versions of Stinkfist and Right in Two. Maaaan..., cant wait for the new album...
@wutjusthapened We had seats at the Houston show last night, too. Somehow we scored front row tix, though, so we got to stand up against the barricade. The seats we WERE sitting in before the show started got ripped apart by the second rowers. LOL! They should have bolted them down. Haha!
Hands down great show. Better than their Lollapalooza 2009 show and their last show in NOLA. They just turned the badass knob up a few notches....Sorry no other videos. Security was unusually strict about photography. no cell phones, no cameras.
Damn that sucks. I have 2nd row tickets for this Friday's show in KC. I was thinking about bringing my camera and filming since I have such awesome seats.
do it anyways. just be super secret about it and not obvious and your good. but security was strict. tool needs to just release a dvd and not worry about people trying capture such an amazing moment in music.
I know... NIN has been completely open about filming at their events and even allowed professional quality recording gear into the last tour. As a result there are 1080p HD videos of entire shows available, even on youtube. Several fan based DVDs have also been released. I wish Tool would follow in NIN's footsteps.

I was at this concert and I thought is was awesome! The light show combined with their performance blew me away! Maynard's talent and creativity are definitely evident in his work.
No concert could ever compare to this one, it was literally better than seeing your first child be birthed. please upload more video from this show if you have it

@perona13 Fuck that, "crappy". Dalek rules. I was at the same show. I expect most Tool fans to be pretty ignorant towards hip-hop though.

@Dimes329 Honestly, though, what would be the "perfect" set-list anyway.
I'll tell you - it would be every song from every album, played in order. But that won't happen, so you got to be happy with what you get.
