T (period) = 2pi x square root of l/g. meaning you could actually solve for g and get the moons gravity, or an approximate value, as your answer. you're very wrong. the equation for a simple pendulum isn't going to change on the moon. it's not a very accurate equation overall, but more than enough to get answer that proves it isn't on earth. I got like 1.2 m/s^2 for the g here.

My uncle was a ham radio operator during the 60s and 70s. He and thousands of other hams listened in on NASA frequencies. There was no scrambling or encoding in those days. Using triangulation, they plotted the moon missions course and position all the way to the moon and back. They had done this since the Mercury flights and knew what they were doing.
Also, one of the Apollo flights left two precisely spaced mirrors on the lunar surface. The mirrors are used by astronomers with lasers today.

It's quite easy for any geologist to determine whether a meteorite is from the moon or not. The Soviets got samples (about 1/2 a lb.) from the moon, so we DO have something to compare rocks to. @MrToiletface The strap is not rigid, hence putting it on a 'ratchet device' would not affect its properties as a pendulumn. Why did they film this event? Because every action undertaken by an astronaut was filmed so ground control could give advise in the event of an unsafe situation. Every arguement for the footage being faked can be disproven, and the remains of the Apollo missions have been photographed on the moon. We even have the vast quantity of regolith brought back.

@CT2507 Because a space walk is not subject to gravity (hence why they float around). The moon, being a solid body with considerably more mass than a spaceship, does have a gravitational effect, hence the difference. The astronaughts move slowly and awkwardly because they are encumbered with the best of 1960's spacesuit technology. Because there is less gravity a pendulumn on the moon has less weight and hence can swing further for a given energy input. Greater distance = greater time to travel

The craft requires less lift power the closer it gets to the moon because acceleration towards the surface decreases, by the time the module is near enough to the ground the power required to keep it floating is very little in comparisson to what is needed on earth. On touchdown the engines auto-disengage.

The silver paint was not on the film, but on the modified Hasselblad cameras to reflect more light & heat. Since heat does not transfer by convection in a vacuum, the Hasselblads worked fine on the moon, during Skylab, Shuttle & ISS under very similar temps. I suggest you look at complete Apollo rolls. They're full of crappy shots!

I have a question. Why are there no pictures form earth of stuff we we on the moon? laser reflectors could have been placed there robotically. We have telescopes that can see the moon clearly. but no images of where the remnants were left behind.

To answer your question though: You would need a telescope >1000 feet in diameter to see the stuff we left behind from Earth.

T (period) = 2pi x square root of l/g. meaning you could actually solve for g and get the moons gravity, or an approximate value, as your answer. you're very wrong. the equation for a simple pendulum isn't going to change on the moon. it's not a very accurate equation overall, but more than enough to get answer that proves it isn't on earth. I got like 1.2 m/s^2 for the g here.

My uncle was a ham radio operator during the 60s and 70s. He and thousands of other hams listened in on NASA frequencies. There was no scrambling or encoding in those days. Using triangulation, they plotted the moon missions course and position all the way to the moon and back. They had done this since the Mercury flights and knew what they were doing.
Also, one of the Apollo flights left two precisely spaced mirrors on the lunar surface. The mirrors are used by astronomers with lasers today.

It's quite easy for any geologist to determine whether a meteorite is from the moon or not. The Soviets got samples (about 1/2 a lb.) from the moon, so we DO have something to compare rocks to. @MrToiletface The strap is not rigid, hence putting it on a 'ratchet device' would not affect its properties as a pendulumn. Why did they film this event? Because every action undertaken by an astronaut was filmed so ground control could give advise in the event of an unsafe situation. Every arguement for the footage being faked can be disproven, and the remains of the Apollo missions have been photographed on the moon. We even have the vast quantity of regolith brought back.

@CT2507 Because a space walk is not subject to gravity (hence why they float around). The moon, being a solid body with considerably more mass than a spaceship, does have a gravitational effect, hence the difference. The astronaughts move slowly and awkwardly because they are encumbered with the best of 1960's spacesuit technology. Because there is less gravity a pendulumn on the moon has less weight and hence can swing further for a given energy input. Greater distance = greater time to travel

Magarenko, to answer your question - I'll give you somebody elses answer. The craft requires less lift power the closer it gets to the moon because acceleration towards the surface decreases, by the time the module is near enough to the ground the power required to keep it floating is very little in comparisson to what is needed on earth. On touchdown the engines auto-disengage.

There could very well be a better explanation for why the blast crater was unnoticable. But you'll have to go and find out just like I will. There are many scientist who dedicate time to giving the reasons to all these questions. There is a website which I can't rememember right now. Try look around rather than base your opinions on assumptions.

There has been studio filming(on Earth)of Astronauts on "the moon"(YES NASA has employed Hollywood, google it.)and what about the vid where "Neil" comes down the ladder to take his first step, and the overhead lighting falls from the roof. All it would take to achieve this, is to prerecord the video, and while the muted video is playing "live", mission control could easily ask the Astronauts(who could have answered from anywhere on Earth) rehearsed questions that match the film. I am not saying that I am right, I am saying it is possible.

@TheJomogogo that is not my reasoning - far from it... but the many fatalities of the shuttle missions give them a context since even though there have been many more shuttle flights it only goes up a few hundred miles.
skeptics could also argue that this is another big reason manned flight appears to be going backwards over more than a 40 year period - were its achievements resembles no other technology in that they are unrepeatable.

even all teleschope, sateliet are below the Van Allen belt.

final conclusion? They recorded a pendulum on Earth and slowed it down 2.5X to make you believe. Like they did with the rover and hopping around on other YouTube videos showing this. Video sound can changed just as easy.

Yes, I too was one of those "idiots" who didn't believe men landed on the moon, due to a lot of very convincing footage that seemed to prove that it had been very likely faked. Despite what those, that believed the moon landings are real, say, I am not stupid and realise that I am mistaken after seeing this convincing footage. I do now accept the fact that man has landed on the moon, but I also respect those people who are of the opinion that it was a hoax, because there are anomalies.

What I find most interesting about the lunar hoax is that they forgot 1 very important thing. Fuel... The escape velocity of the Moon is 2.4km/s = 8640 km/h. Were the hell did they hide all the rocket fuel needed, not only to break the decent, but to take off again.
