I would be a lot more impressed if the sousaphone weren't fiberglass. We do all sorts of crazy dances like that with Conn 20ks. Those are ENORMOUS.

my band director played with UGA back when they just stood and held normal tubas with sousa bells XD... we actually have one and it is super heavy but it sounds so amazing.... its like mixing the power of a sousa with the clarity of a concert tuba

Hmm... Well, I play the sousaphone and I have to say that the reason for this might be that the brass doesn't get to interact much with the woodwinds. I get along with pretty much everyone except for them cause' I don't really get a chance to know them... But I get along with everyone else just fine...
