She has the greatest, and most soothing voice ive heard in a long time. Play ENDLESS OCEAN for the WII and you will fall asleep listening to her voice and the sounds of the water.
They are agitated the juice of my scrotum But when you cross over girl they will be released. Oh girl return to me, I could die of love for you. I have written my letter I have sent my ring, so that your people can see that I am troubled.
I like this song! One of my favorite. Can anyone else introduce other nice Maori/Polynesian folk songs for me please? Give a link or something, thank you.
Its not Swahili Crwsinger you knob its MAORI.....Well Sung but I'm sad to say that she won't be eating dinner with the Maori people any time soon....Just the way things are..Hopefully our next generation can fix what we could not.
The language is Maori, an even more exotic language. It is the language of the indigenous people of New Zealand or Aotearoa. There is a superb but hard film about the modern Maori, Once Were Warriors.
I bought it on iTunes and the middle section has a choir instead of her voice. I really liked that part. Does anyone know which version has it? I bought the version from Pure.
I forget the name of the woman who directed this video but I know she is one of New Zealand's prominent post-modernist auteurs who has been much influenced by the French Novelle Vague cinematic school. I see hints in this work of Traufault, Bergman, and, to a lesser extent, Peter Jackson all of whom she has acknowledged as influences. The symbolism reminds me both of the Maltese Falcon, and Citizen Kane, while elements of the mise en scène bring to mind zeffirelli at his most enigmatic.
The shoes represent the time in Hayley's life when she was poor and could only afford cheap sneakers from Woolworths. Removing them represents her making a Faustian pact with the devils of fame and fortune. In the final part of the trilogy (yet to be released) we see her on her deathbed muttering, "Rosebud" (the brand of the sneakers). So they represent the time in her life when she was poor; but which was also the only time in her life when she was truly happy and wanted for nothing.
Oh! As simple as that? I thought maybe she'd stolen the shoes and was going to plant them next to the dead zombie surfer dude to frame him. Then, when the police came to arrest him the'd see the angel dust she blew into his face and he'd get 20 to life as payback for narcing on Hayley while at Burnside school for girls and sissies. Anyone can see the shoes are five sizes too small for Hayley, anyway. Weren't you once engaged to HW, Mr. Squid?
Stormy are the waters Of restless Waiapu If you cross them girl They will be calmed Oh girl Come back to me I could die Of love for you I write you my letter I send you my ring So your people can see How troubled I am
There is another video with the translation. Its about a boy and girl in love from two different tribes in New Zealand but are forbidden to see one another, one or the other is disabled, and I believe it is the one sends a ring to the tribe to prove their love for the other in marriage. If you like I can translate the words on here :) xx
minigarvi. This version comes from one of her pre-professional album "My Gift to You" which is available through amazon. Pokarekare Ana is also on her Best Of album "River of Dreams"
Her voice is incredibly beautiful. And yes, playing Wii's "Endless Ocean" was in part so fun because of her music. Very relaxing, tranquil and suited to relaxing underwater exploration.
The "hole in the rock" that features here and also in part of the Narnia Prince Caspian movie was also shot in New Zealand. The hole in the rock is called Cathedral Cove. This is at Hahei Beach (pronounced Haa-hey) which is located on the Coromandel Peninsula. It is one of the most beautiful place in NZ!
She sings ALL the songs on Wii Endless Ocean game. Once you beat the game you have an entire album of songs by her. Together with the gorgeous scuba game..,.a winner!
simmo303, go and get your ears cleaned out....Billy Connelly is a blithering idiot. Hayley is a Kiwi who grew up with the song and sings it beautifully, like no nobody else could hope to .( including Kiri)

thats a worry then, theyll fleece australia dry as well. New Zealand is the best country to live in, aussie has a better climate, but if the maori has his way there'll be nothing left for no-one. if they really think their hard done by they ought to all resettle in the USA. it will be a big wake up call, no free handouts here! life is what YOU make it. running around in grass skirts, flashing a bit of tounge and stamping their feet isnt exactly rocket science. long live aotearoa.
What y0ur saying d0n't make sense aye. Maoriz are ordinary pe0ple they can g0 to any c0untry . Well thats if they d0n't have a criminal record l0lz. But every0nez welc0me ANYWHERE its multicultural and thats h0w it sh0uld be. Man im heading t0 university over here and I wanna be a radiologist . I believe that I can make it !!.. and maoris wonder y theres a dissproportionate amount of them in jail. that statement says it all. just like when i was at school in wainuiomata, theyd use their fists instead of their brains. Barack Obama got where he is now by staying kool! more maoris need to. as for a dying launguage, if it wasnt, then it wouldnt be compulsory for pakehas to learn it in school, but because maoris still dont value education, few get to university to become teachers of their own laungauge.its a very nice song!
I love this song. I call it the national anthem of New Zealand. thanks mate for the video.

thats a worry then, theyll fleece australia dry as well.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
and maoris wonder y theres a dissproportionate amount of them in jail. that statement says it all. just like when i was at school in wainuiomata, theyd use their fists instead of their brains. Barack Obama got where he is now by staying kool! more maoris need to. as for a dying launguage, if it wasnt, then it wouldnt be compulsory for pakehas to learn it in school, but because maoris still dont value education, few get to university to become teachers of their own laungauge.its a very nice song!
