The Chargers lost 2 players in the offseason from last years team. They signed 1 free agent and drafted 7 players.That's 2 leaving, and 8 coming in. You do the math, they can afford to develop some guys, they won't all be suiting up on sundays right away anyways. It's a pretty small gamble really.

My brother was a fellow all star with Vsughn at Western. Vaughn could just dominate guys when he wanted to, but had a tendancy to take plays off and get lazy. They would call him out lots in film study because of it. But having a shot at the NFL, I think that'll change. He has alot of potential, and could make and impact.

My understanding is Merriman is at SLB, probably for match up problems against TE's and RT's. Putting a pass rusher of his level against probowl LT's would be a waste and too much of a gamble. And it helps that they have another great rusher on the blind side to get away with that arrangement.

With that strength as well, it'll be interesting.
