@w0nd100 It depends which character it is. In general, looney tunes came out in 1930, but not all the characters came out around that time. Bugs Bunny came out in 1940, Daffy Duck came out in 1937, Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner came out in 1949, etc. Many of the "just for 1930s" characters didn't get revived such as Bosko, Buddy, Foxy, etc. The last Warner Bros cartoon that was a part of the original series was released in 1969.

@StMarciano A lot of Mexicans actually loved Speedy in the late 50s, early 60s. In fact it's why his popularity rose so much in the west, and by the 60's, they stopped putting Daffy with Bugs in cartoons and instead paired Daffy with Speedy for the remaining years of the Golden Era.

@StMarciano I don't think they created Speedy with the intention of having a Mexican in the group, but more of they wanted a mouse, they needed a dialect or speech impediment for him, and then tied him to having Mexican roots. Being Mexican is just his added quirk, just as Bugs is from New York, they aren't trying to say all New Yorkers are smart-asses by giving him that dialect though. The actual racist cartoon shorts were from the 30s and 40s and those would be all the banned ones.

@Sassyroo221 they didn't kill it. they allowed these classic characters to have new adventures introducing another generation to them. it's easy to criticize it, but that's because we're simply looking things through a nostalgic point of view. we're always going off comparing it to the old, when in reality it shouldn't stay the same. otherwise there's no progress n never-evolving. its using the same characters we love and making them more relatable n fresh for kids who don't know them.

@arceustonu but just because we prefer 2-d animation, it doesn't necessarily mean it's better. it's simply a different style. when pixar started out with 3-d animation, there were accusations that it'll replace artists and was used as a scapegoat for why some 2-d movies weren't raking in the money. both are a form of animation that needs the brilliant ideas of good writers to tell a story and need artists. that's what it all really comes down to. good stories and good art, whether it be 2d or 3d
