I just googled "u-star video" and evidently it's a booth where you can stand in front of a green screen and it automatically superimposes you into a pre-recorded TV show clip. That's why you can hear people laughing (I'm assuming they're watching him in the booth). Also, that's why at the end, he laughs and says "It's still going."

I get the impression that he was genuinely uncomfortable doing this with people watching him.
