I'm from germany , born 1974...never heard this song..but what the hell for good tune ist that...oooooh yeah baby ...got to get the cd or what else....pure good song for a good mood ! Thanks for sharing this !
OH MAN I HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS FROM BRICK. I HAVEN'T HEARD THIS SONG SINCE I WAS A CHILD LIVING IN FAYETTVILLE, NC IN THE 70'S.I AM SO STUNNED RIGHT NOW!!!
I HAVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE FOR THIS..; KUDOS! MEMORIES OF COLLEGE, PARTYING WITH MY FRAT BROS, & GOING OFF TO BOOT CAMP. JUST LIKE YESTERDAY...35 YEARS AGO..DAMN!
I have been trying to find this song for over 30 years. It was the b side of their hit song Dazz. It reminded me a bit of the theme from enter the dragon. I use to use the music when I worked out. Thanks for posting the song. It brought back a lot of good memories.
I was only 6 years old when this came out by Brick...I was already loving music since I was either 2 or 3. I love this instrumental track by them! Such a jam!
i was a teen when this came out...maaan, in the scheme of things, looking over your shoulder, it looks like a lifetime ago..... it's cool....some didn't make it to the present... good memories with this song
BACK AT CHA WHILE THE BRICK HITS US WITH THE SOUTHERN SUNSET THE SUN SO NUFF GONNA SET ON SOME BODY IN THE DOME TOMMORROW . EITHER GREEN BAY OR ATLANTA GONNA SOUTHERN SUNSET. A SMOOTH JAM SOUTHERN SUNSET GETTING YOU READY FOR THE SOUTHERN SUNSET.SISTER TWISTER .
FELLOW BROWNITES THEY ARE BUILDING A WALL-MART AROUND THE STADIUM YOU KNOW THE ONE AS HERNDON THE ONE THE SOUTHERN SUNSET ON BRICK. SISTER TWISTER YOU GOT MY SISTERS IN THE SOUTHERN SUNSET SO IF YOU WANT A GOOD HIGH ON A SNOWY DAY SOUTHERN SUNSET. BRICK
MAN IM CRUSING IN A 442 AKA RIP OFF 350 BLOCK TO GOOD HIGH HEADED FOR THE F.L.A. AND IN THE SOUTHERN SUNSET I HEAR DORIS AND THE LADIES OF MOBROWN BACKGROUND VOCALS FOR BRICK. IN THE SUB DORMITORY BRICK SOUND . NO.40 FAT BODDIE SHOOTING JUMPERS TO SOUTHERN SUNSET. M.B.C.
I WAS IN PRE SCHOOL WHEN THIS CAME OUT. MOM HAD IT ON A 45. THIS WAS THE B SIDE. SIDE A WAS DAZZ BUT I LIKE THIS ONE BETTER BECAUSE OF THE INSTRUMENTAL
I was n tha 9th grade @ Midway Middle, Shreveport, Louisiana when this album came out, still got the album, I made up my own lyrics to this music, I still remember them after all these years. Gotta love it!
These are some of the many great songs that took Me through My Senior Year at St John's College High School Nassau Bahamas. Thank You Very Kindly Brick.
HOLY SMOKES! I just stumbled upon this song and totally love it! It was recorded a few years before I was born but I swear I had some flashback to distant days I can't even describe. Solid brick indeed!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, I have Not Heard This In Years. I Remember It Was The B-Side To "DISCO DAZZ" And Loved It Almost As Much As "DAZZ," Maybe Because It Is Such A Beautiful Instrumental. I Was Very Disappointed That It Was Not Included On Their Greatest Hits CD.
This takes me back to my early twenties in 1977..had to be around 22-23. This is one of the most underrated over looked bands of R&B. Not only were they Just as talented and Better singers than the Commodores who round bigger than Brick..But unlike the Commodores who were talented..I much peferred Bricks smooth jazzy take you to another place music..this song along with Fun from their debut..Living for the Mind and To Me from the Stoneheart lp was simply Brilliant and severely underrated.
i love this joint....soon as the song end i run over to my turntable pick the needle up and bring it back....the vibe of this song feels soo good...and the cover of the album is just crazy ;' ) ...that good high....
OMG!!!! I was in the first grade when this song was out. I remember my mother use to tell me not to play her 45's and her albums because i would scratch them. My mother gave me her love of music at a very young age. Many songs take me back to when it was just me and her. I love my mother so much for all she did for me. I love you mommy!!!
This takes me back to when my mom used to play this album on Sunday morning while making pancakes for me and my little brother. She used to have a huge afro and she could dance her a** off to this tune! Good Times!!!
@vlvtrp Sure does bring back memories each time I hear it...I remember my mother would stack about 6 45's on the stereo this song included, and I'd stand by the stereo and watch them drop...the needle move onto the record and listen to those good sounds coming from the speakers...
George 'Boogie' Jones from WEDR in Miami used to close his radio show with this every night. "Another day, another dollar...a million days, a millionaire". Classic Jam! Thanks for the post.
Beautiful. One of my all-time favourite instrumentals, with very happy associated memories from the winter of 1976. It released as the flipside to the American 45 of "Dazz" - but not the US 12", or the UK issue for some reason, so it never got a chance of radio exposure. I love it to bits.
I remember this song from back in the day. What an incredible song. This is real pure music here played by real musicians. Brick was one of the baddest bands ever.
I'm a young triple O.G. and found this jam in my pops garage on 45!
Had me shed a tear, just amazing.
One because in this day and age, folks (not everyone) are not trying to play instruments or learn how to arrange something like this. I mean from beginning to end hear all the instruments.
Genius
Stay blessed and kick this music to all them young snot nose punks who don't respect where Hip Hop & Rap came from.
I have something in common with a few of you reguarding this Record, Tried for a while to remember the name, find it & it got me thur some down times :)
Incredible!! I haven't heard this since I was about 15,I'm 44 now...but I remember this was a 'side b' to 'dazz'...Thank you so much! I played it more than side a!..it just got my day going!
You can guess what I'll be cranking up tomorrow morning!!!
Man out of all the song's on this album this was the one that made me relax and feel good, I haven't heard this since my uncle sold his pool hall in the country
...i haven't heard this since i was a teen...great memories...the sound is so fresh and optomistic...those are two words that are not in the musical vocabulary of today...
We had HIP Moms.
