  • where can i get the tools to do this? pleace help

  • Yeah very good, only took him seven minutes not 12 hrs, everyone i talked to with mine said a head off job!

  • what is the kit actually called and where can I purchase one? god I hate dieseld. they suck!!!!

  • I think some of the stuff like a special slide hammer for the guide bush is a bit OTT.

I managed to do it on OM605 with a set of drill bits form the local hardware store and long HT M8 bolt and tap set from Lidl. I had to extend the drill bit using shaft off the dead plugs.

Took the whole Sunday from 9am to 9 pm because it broke on me on 4 plugs out of 5.

  • f*** me, all that for one glow plug?? I rather just buy new engine!! Good video tho, good skills

  • What a pain the arse job ....

  • so your are telling me that if i dont have a $500 super tool kit that i am in shits-vill

  • what engine is that?

  • hi, i am impressed where can i buy this from??

  • Very neat. Wish someone like him was working in my local garage ;-)

  • How much does this job actually cost ?

  • I've got problem to start the diesel engine (common rail) after cleaning the fuel nozzle of my ML 270 CDI 2001 ? any help?, thanks.

  • hats off germans are the best they proving it all the time well done deutchland

  • ¡¡¡¡buen trabajo¡¡¡

  • Makes you wonder what kind of penny-pinching moron conceived a M6 80mm long stech bolt to hold down a cdi injector and equally a tiny m10 glow plug that welds to the head,,vorsprung durch technic my big end!

  • I trust you know what your doing but I would think metal would still remain inside the engine and would intern shorten its life

  • Can you tell me what the two sets of tools are that you have on either side of the spanners etc at the being of the video?

    Thanks

  • who done this video? looks like it is some official training for workshop workers. very nice done indeed

  • damn he makes it look hella easy ma spark plug i barely cant even take it out im already cusing and today i was crying of anger

  • this guys gettin'on my wick, i've just snapped a stud extracter bit off in my mopeds cylinder heed, stuck real tight an'all...this fecker'd ave it oot in the time it'd take fly over coventry....;-)...anybody got a dremel?

  • könnte ich mir den ganzen tag angucken

  • Good stuff! Apparently the "thread doctor" in the chippenham area done my Sprinter before I bought it, I guess he used something like this.

  • What's with the weird sound effects?

  • They're actually not sound effects. It's an electrocution warning to all mechanics to be properly gounded when re-tapping aluminum.

    Silly Germans

  • Isn't that music from off of the buses

  • i can't figure out if you rethreaded it or just chased the old threads. Did you drop in an insert? Beautiful tool set, i can see a shop in europe with lots of diesels making profit on that.

  • Had to watch this a few times to see what was goin on. Didn't really show why you connected airline to injector hole. was it to get rid of iron filings from drilling? Well done anyway, very impressive.

  • To prevent metal from getting into the engine.

  • This head is also aluminum, i dont belive this would happen on a 616 or 617 cast iron head.

  • I get the feeling he has done this before

  • He makes it look so easy. In reality he'd have bleeding hands and be swearing a lot :)

  • If you don't have the tools, you can try my method. All you needs is some drill bits, taps and a hardened M6 bolt. Google for "Broken Glow Plugs OM606 OM605".

  • That is awesome!

  • Removing the head would probably be cheaper than acquiring all those specialty tools. The baby slide hammer is cute. That is the most dramatic stud extraction/re-tapping instructional I have ever seen. Very well done

  • I've been to Germany and that is how they roll!

They still use generators from WWII (in remote sites they still have swastikas painted on them).

  • I freakin' hate you. I had a glow plug break off on a 617 engine in an '83 300SD, and have had to remive the whole head.

  • Removing the head should be a last resort option after every other method fails to extract the broken plug.
