As mentioned, the axle on the General Lee was extremely easy to put on. Drunk or not, we're talking very basic motor skills here. A common sea turtle could manage the task with far greater grace and efficiency. I'm wondering if "Dad" is suffering from some degenerative neurological disorder and is drinking to cope with it. This is the only explanation I can think of for his inexcusable levels of fail.

DEF nothing funny about this ad. I grew up in a family of alcoholics and I've seen first-hand, what drinking does to people. Pretty much, my dad's entire immediate family. They were all heavy drinkers. And they got nasty as fuck when they'd had too much. I remember, all too well, my father's drunken rages, when I was a kid. He'd scream, cuss at us kids, and my mom, and smash whatever he could get his hands on. It got so bad, my mom threatened a divorce if he didn't stop. Luckily, he did.

Ya, it really does, doesn't it? DEF wasn't pleasant, growing up around it, that's for sure. My father's alcoholism almost caused my parents to divorce in '95. When I was 13 yrs old, I witnessed my dad get himself into an accident. I was coming out of the store, and saw him t-bone another car. Believe me. Watching my father get hauled off in handcuffs, was traumatizing. Still haunts me. : (

I remember this ad too. I had a General Lee car just like that around the time this ad aired. I still have it today but I gave it to my nephews. This ad was very affective. I always felt bad for the boy when his Dad yelled at him.

I think I remember this PSA to. I had that General Lee car to, it came with the other Duke Boys. Those were so easy to fix cause you could snap the wheels back on. I had that toy for so long til' some knucklehead in my family broke off one of the legs.

Yep mine came with Bo and Luke Duke action figures as well. The wheels came off mine once too and they just snap back on very quickly. I guess after hitting the sauce it might be a different story. I wouldn't know I have never tried it doing that. LOL! I also had Boss Hogg's car and Rosco's police car both with the action figures. My nephews who never actually watched the show love the cars now.
