I got in the Army in the 90's. The training atmosphere was 100 time more intense. The DS's were punchy still back then and yes Marines had to go through Army basic and so did some Prior Army soldiers. No freebeez back then. The Real Army Strong.

Military branches are very big and there is a lot of variety within them. Instead of worrying about which branch, focus more on what job and what type of unit you would like to be in. An Army Infantryman has more in common with a Marine Infantryman than he does other non combat jobs in the Army. Decide on whether you want a combat arms job or not. Then decide what kind of unit you want to be in. All branches have combat and non combat jobs. You can hate or love life in any branch.
