Can I just say, that uncomfortable feeling was actually Satan trying to stop you because he knew you would come to Jesus. He was trying to stop you, it was his anger, not yours.
In my experience, it usually ends with a proposition. I have no idea why, but Middle Eastern men seem to like me. Religion might not be universal, but some things are...
@666or999 actually it could be both bit no god or no gods is closer to the Attic Greek and New Testament Greek I learnt. A as a negative prefix meaning no or not or un. The prefix less as in godless I do not think is accurate since it implies a lack or taking away of something that was once there and so implies existence
a theos = no god, as in there is no god. Its pretty simple..try using books as opposed to google 'the only thing an atheist 'lacks' is the kool aid and is probably quite ok with that
Of course I don't know your exact experience but I was making the observation from viewing your video post. They are both essentially belief systems. A 'religion is not a belief.'.well you might want to look at that more closely. The last time i looked at a Thesaurus, belief can be substituted for religion or would you prefer faith?. Any search for so called truth or salvation will be in the wrong direction - itis the curse of mind
it sounds like your parents were pantheists.. I was agnostic borderline atheist for a while myself.. The Objective side of Christian apologetics really helped me and I strongly feel would help others in similar positions. C.S Lewis Mere Christianity and Handbook of Christian Apologetics by Dr Peter Kreeft.
@HighCardWins read Romans 5:8, and you'll understand why so many people follow Christian God. Read Titus 2:11-12 and you'll understand why people follow the Christian God. Read Isaiah 53 and you'll understand why people follow the Christian God. study the new testament, and study the gospel of Jesus Christ. People follow the Christian God because He is God. You shouldn't follow him just to get to Heaven. Follow Him because you love him, you desire him, you want to serve him.
@HighCardWins i beleive that god gave us free wills and a powerful mind so that we can choose to follow him or not if you look at the bible t sais stuff like "god talked to moses" or something not "and god took control of moses like a puppet" so i dont think god directly control things that happen in the world its more cause and effect. if im making any sense lol
your story is similar to me and my boyfriend. my boyfriend believes in God strongly and I didn't believe in Him. I resented my boyfriend so much because he believed and loved God. our relationship was going down hill we were always fighting. finally i got sick of it and cried out to God to show Himself to me and He's been doing it ever since. Life is different for me now, it's crazy. I love God more then ever. I'm happy that you've found Him too :) God bless you my sister!
Not one man in ten thousand has the goodness of heart nor the strength of mind to be an Atheist. I understand now that Atheism isn't for everyone because most human beings are corrupt at heart and mentally unstable to understand their true nature on this planet. The Atheist movement is better off screening out those individuals who will only end up being a drag on the movement. We need to do like the Church of Scientology and start giving folks "personality test".
I remember when I converted to Christianity, I was surprised about the gospel. I use to go around calling God a "fairy tale creature" or an imaginary sky man but I was shocked at how ignorant and stubborn I was. I was living a life that I was willingly lived in sin and in disbelief. One day I questioned my atheism and thought "What if I'm wrong?" I got scared and tried to push it out of my mind but later I decided to go to church to see what the fuss was about God. Now I am a Christian.....
@willdude85 I hope it wasn't fear of hellfire or judgment that drove you to go to church. Surely, a loving God would NEVER want someone to start believing in him out of fear--only out of love.

You havent changed...from a 'belief' in atheism to a belief in christianity..you have just changed religions..and have been influenced into that as a result of unfortunate life choices..I suggest you travel outside of USA see the world, study a bit more about religions, and more importantly philosophy and the mind..but dont swap one belief for another..its just belief..which is ultimately a form of maya (illusion)
Amen!!! for that reply!! "No Thanks Indeed." With Christ we have all the LOVE we need. No need for philosophies. The greatest philosopher is Christ himself, the prince of peace, the king of kings, the Lord of Lords - Halleluyah!
@barnabycross atheism dosnt have a dogma or any set of rules or regulations, or any of those prerequisites that make a religion a religion. simply having a "belief" dosnt make something a religion.
Based on what you said, you were not an atheist. An atheist lacks a belief in a supreme being or beings. Whereas you said: you as a teen believed that there is no god. It may sound like I am mincing words, but I am not There is a clear difference, as atheism is not a belief system, but a lack there of. Atheism is merely a response to theistic claims about gods.
P.S.
To be perfectly clear; atheism is a belief just about as much as not collecting stamps is a hobby.
Actually, "weak atheism" or "soft atheism" is defined as simply "lacking a belief in a supreme being or beings." It's really closer to agnosticism than the position I took, which was "strong atheism" or "hard atheism," as I said. Strong atheism affirms that "there is no supreme being" or "there are no gods." I thought I made that clear. You can google this stuff.
wow. an atheist doesnt get what aheist really was? lol and you have to tell them that. hahahahahahahaha. its amazing congrats to becoming christian. your experience is your own they can experience for themselves if they choose to. I not going crazy in the christianity where i being hateful but i believe in God. havent been to church for a while but i keep studying it.
@Katalyzt Dude there's a word for your redundant technicalities for the sake of sounding intellectually specific. It's called tautology and is considered a cognitive defect, although I know your intention was to sound intelligent. It just made you look ignorant, and I say this nonabrasively. There is a difference between being able to use sound, identifiable reasoning and just TRYING to sound like you know what you're talking about. I'm actually kind of embarassed for you. Please try harder.
I think that hate could've come from demons. Praise God that you became saved.

Matt 2:23: Says Jesus was prophesied to be a "Nazarene", except there is no such prophecy in the Old Testament. It doesn't exist.
Matt 27:9: Quotes a prophecy from Jeremiah. There is no such prophecy in Jeremiah.
John 2:17: Quotes a psalm as a prophecy of Jesus. Except the psalm is clearly talking about a SINNER. Was Jesus a sinner?
Matt 2:14: Says Jesus was prophesied to come out of Egypt. The 'prophecy' quoted is talking about Israel (Jacob), not Jesus.

@barnabycross Atheos means godless not no god. Not that either of these terms imply a belief.

I can't believe in a God who murders children and infants. I really hope you read the Bible. God murders a lot of children in the Bible.
Read Ezechial 9:4-6, 1 Samuel 15:3,7-8, Judges 21:10-12.
I'm sorry , but the Christian God is not good.
If God told you to kill your baby, would you do it? I hope not.
