@256guitarhero I am positive that it's the 6505. I don't use any of the other models. You should be able to get more brightness by adjusting the presence. Also, your guitar and pickups might have a natural darkness to them, which would make the tone darker.
Thanks for the no BS assessment of the amp. I've looked at the line6 and the Peavey, and I agree that the Peavey has better tones, overall. I will DEFINITELY look at your other vids on your channel, dude. Thanks!
@1995jsn I haven't played the mustang, but I would probably have to say the Roland Cube. As much as I love Peavey amps, the cube probably is just a little bit better sounding. If you love Peavey amps like the 6505, JSX and XXX, then go with the rypyr.
Thanks for the review. Best one on youtube so far. I had already eliminated Line 6 as an option and it was between Roland cube 15xl and this Peavey Vypyr 15. I'm gonna buy the Roland Cube. It's built way tougher too.
@dlowrie290 ...just got one of these amazing practice amps about 2 weeks ago and must aside from the occasional bug outs (easily fixed by turning off then back on) hands down the best $100 I have ever spent on music equipment. I have been playing an Engl Fireball 100 through a 4x12 Fryette cab and hate that I really can't practice on it without blowing all the windows in the house out. Since I've been using this Vypyr 15 I have so much more motivation to play and am playing much better for that
@Shadowx011 There is just something about a high gain tube amp that won't let you play it at bedroom volumes. It's like you're offending it by trying to keep it quiet. LOL. Yeah, I play this little amp more then any of my others. It is just too easy to use and the sound is decent for what it is.
Nice vid man. I'm actually in the same boat. You cant use a full blown Mesa rig at all times of the day and Im looking for something exactly like this. Haven't tried a Line 6 since the original Spyder which I hated. This little guy sounds GREAT!
Dude can you give me your distorted/metal tone at the beginning of the video? Thanks.

@256guitarhero This was almost a year ago, but it was almost definitely on the 6505 model.
Gain - between 7 and 8

This is about the best review I've seen for this amp. Plan on getting one soon. And cheers for the BLS blanket on the couch. SDMF.

@DoomTrooper32FKHD Thank you sir and nice catch with the BLS blanket. It helps me dream of glorious pinch harmonic squeelies.

@wingwangwoowoo Yeah, those Roland Cubes are pretty impressive. Its a good upgrade. Cheers

@wingwangwoowoo I would contact Peavey support. That isn't how it should be.

@wingwangwoowoo The amp turns on with or without it. I'm pretty sure that's how they should all behave.
