Aaah, it totally worked! It tasted awesome. I made little rice balls, with wee faces on 'em with black sesame seeds. I know it's jap, but the thai sticky rice was soo good!

Wow, I bought me a bamboo woven steamer today, just like that from the local thai shop and my rice is soaking as I type this. I can't wait to try and make this. However, I don't have a pot like that. I was going to buy one, but it was too expensive for me.

Does a normal pot work fine, with this kind of bamboo steamer?

OMG i was cooking those sticky rice wrong all dis time, i never put em in water for 3 hrs prior to cooking, nor i used a basket thingy, no wonder they dint turn out dat good, can any1 suggest an alternate to the basket cuz i dnt have it

I saw that bamboo basket and didn't know what it was for, I thought it was just for rinsing the rice. Thanks for the information..
