  • Gord is not what he used to be but he is still alive and stands for and represents the face of CANADIAN MUSIC. He is a LEGEND, period.

  • Gordon is a phenomenon in his versatility. There is no one to match him .This song is particularly poignant to listento as he ages

  • Yes I agree Lightfoot was great not just canadas greatest either.Dylan was a huge fan

  • I love this song. I love Gordon Lightfoot.

  • With all due respect to Leonard Cohen, Gord is Canada's poet laureate.

  • Beautiful song from a great artist. Thank you Gord for this and so many songs.

  • Pure Canadiam Perfection....that is all that needs to be said....

  • Pure perfection..that is all that needs to be said....CANDIAN.... :)

  • @growver or canadian . but yeah i get the gist of what you said. at least i can share hte same continent as canada lol :)

  • The 'Winters Night' is actually referring to a lady...

  • So many of the great singer songwriters are gone. We are blessed to still have the likes of Gordon Lightfoot, Kris Kristofferson, even Tracy Chapman, and the like...... Gordon's music will live on forever--- I'd still travel many miles to see him, but he probably won't make it this far down in the States again.... Blessings to GL-- and thanks for the video.....

  • Do you have this song from Gordon's Gord's Gold album???? If so, can you please get in touch with me!

  • @huppypuppy i do. i uploaded a video i made from that recording. " god bless you gordon lightfoot, and thank you for being you, only you, and nothign BUT you

  • Not bad for a 70 year old guy who had a stroke just a few years ago! If you havn't heard the song when he sang it in his prime, do yourself a favor....listen to it.

  • One of the Greatest Songwriters of all time. Very Beautiful and heartfelt. Thank you Gordon. Gods Blessings have been on you and we all have been blessed as a result.

  • GORD - You're still GOLD :D

  • that's why they call him Gorld

  • wow! what a treat to a performance like that!

  • Wow! I would love to see him in a small setting like this!

  • the owners of the songs are stupid, they should let the albums play here. it gets them free publicity. otherwise they go into obscurity. they will learn the hard way.

  • @mshorba --- you are correct, but it's not usually the songwriters, but rather the record companies that pull the good posts. The record companies are stuck in a mindset of no one else having control over their artists because that's the way it's been for the last 100 years (or so)..... this has all changed with the internet and the older record companies are so bloated and sluggish and complacent that they can't keep up with the technology. They are scared and should be.

  • youtube pulled all the videos made with Lightfoot tunes a background music..copyright laws etc.

  • A while back someone posted a video for this song

Had a wee small cabin , a wood stove, a lantern, a single bed,,some northern lights'

  • This man's music has transcended time and generations, and he keeps giving his all for his fans. Few will ever achieve what he has accomplished, and for that he can be proud !!!! Mr. Lightfoot, thank you for sharing your immense talent with us and for bringing so much joy into our lives.

  • Gordon Lightfoot is probably one of the best lyricists, and songwriters ever. He was never afforded the accolades he so well deserved. I've got every album he's made, even the UA recordings. A phenomenal talent.

  • Totally awesome, love his lyrics very gifted and one of the great songwriters.

  • This was one of the first Lightfoot songs I learned and it's so enchanting hearing him play it solo.
