Hey, I own the Head Speed Lite and I've been playing with it for the past one and half years since I began learning tennis. As you said... I agree with you 100%, it's a coach's racquet, of course. But of late I find that I am committing too many unforced errors.. because I've matured into a more intermediate player and it seems I want to control my shots than just focus on the technique. I want to generate my own power and see how that power works on the ball too. Can I have some advice?
This racquet is great! I personally like light racquets to move around faster. The d30 technology in the shaft really does adapts to me, making my topspin volleys hit hard, and adds some touch to my slice. And the DuPont Teflon provides me with good power.
@HahaGourds Aluminum is the least expensive composition for a racquet. It's generally for beginners, it's flexible. I personally don't like it, I like graphite because it's stiffer, and reduces more vibration than aluminum.
@dchazer007 Depends on how you like it and what kind of strings. I hybrid Head FXP Power and Head FXP. I set tension at 60 and 58. I go a little above recommended which is 57, because the tension on strings will begin to stretch, and lose tension pretty soon. Pre-stretching helps too, but I put a little above recommend. Recommended is 57 though, cause it's in middle.
I just bought a Youtek Radical Lite, im an intermediate player, yet working on my swing and backhand, but i didn't felt comfortable with this racket cause its just 9oz. Should I change it? what do you recommend?
@computersmilodon I personally hybrid Head FXP Power and Head FXP. Just to provide a blend of power and control. You tell me though, for durability strings, its Head Sonic Pro. For power, it's Head FXP Power. For control it's Head FXP. For spin it's natural gut. So hybrid them if you want, put the tension you want, this is Head.
I just bought the Speed Lite (non-innegra version) which is a year old model. But I really love it. I'm stepping up from a Head Liquidmetal 8 racket and I really like the feel of the Speed Lite. The head size is smaller than the Liquidmetal but I was pretty consistent with it. It is lower power and on the lighter weight side but as a relative beginner (3.0 -3.5 player) I like the control it gives me and still hit from baseline to baseline without difficulty.
@dbreardon funny, i also current use a head liquidmetal 8 and was thinking hard about getting the speed lite. you wrote this comment 2 months ago, do you still feel the same way about it?
I'm coming from a BLX six one 95 the open string pattern one.... I'm thinking of switching to the head youtek speed elite. I'm trying to better my strokes. Should I switch or just practice with the blx?
i just got the head elite today and i feel i get so much power with my serve and im 14 and a high level county player and i think this is a great racket :)
I just ordered a demo of the Elite and I'm pretty excited. I've been playing with a K Blade 98, and i've been wanting a lighter racquet with a more open string pattern for some time.
sorry for my 2cent but you can't compare two different brands, people who are used to head likes head better people who use babolats like babolat better, if you wanna know which is better you have to hit with it for awhile to understand it's potential and why feels the way it is, asking for someone's opinion on which is better isn't really a good way to go about with this (thats my 2cents sorry just had to say it)
which racket feels better on serve? do you get more pressure/spin on the ball because of the "bit more" wheigt (elite)? i have only tested the lite- and like it- but i i think i can't serve that hard....
the thing about youtek is the faster you swing the speedier the shot so the lighter choice will probably provide the same level serve as the heavier racquet just because you can swing it faster
i have the speed pro one.. i find these racket having an unusual round head.. compared to other rackets.. like even the microgel have more of an egg shape head.. idk if it is the youtek or the head size.. but it has a slightly diff feel than other rackets... my own personal opinion though...

there is nothing wrong w getting paid, as long as your opinion is truthful and unbiased
travisdt 1 year ago
It depends on how fast your racket degrades and whether you should buy 3-6 rackets just incase the strings pop.
OhhShaadoow 2 years ago
should a club player bye 6 rackets like the pros?
fraserweere 2 years ago
@fraserweere
it depends on how fast you break strings.
if im trying my best then i break in a week or less.
so i have 3 speed pros
so even tho my strings break during game i wount get screwed over
if you break strings every few months or once a month then one is enough or maybe 2 at most

@fraserweere no def not, maby 2-3
