I tried air alert but I only gained a couple inches.My theory is that if you've done some vertical training before, air alert won't work as well.My best bet would be the "jump manual".It's more in-depth and gives you more options.Beginner or with previous vert training it'll work 10x better than air alert.I'm only on week 3 and I've already gained like 6 inches.Here's the link: tinyurl!com/26oyzjk...i hope that helps!!! =) p.s. when im done with the program i'll try and post a vid asap
@joedahoe428 air alert is low intensity high volume. It's much more efficient to do high intensity low volume plyo and stimulates max effort jumping reaction. Look at the chink's other vids, he's also power lifting. He's a no ridiculous jumper you know what I'm saying?
dude im not tryin to be a dick or anything..but you probably ended up with that injury because not only are you doin the excercises on concrete but also you appear to be doin them wrong..for ex.: on the 'leap ups'..your goin down a bit too far..only a 1/4 squat motion is required/recommended..
exactly. and the thrust ups are wrong, too. you're supposed to be jumping with the power of your ankles. if you do it correctly, you feel a burning in the upper part of your calves. the way you do the thrust ups you're jumping higher as with the burnouts, which is not possible when only using the ankles.
Lock your knees don't bend it at all. Then from that posture, raise on your tip toes as high as you could then jump like machine gunly fast as you could. This is vital as if it's not done this way you loose the most major vital gains off air alert. I've done it wrong because I'm super exhausted already with my knees not locked in and not jumping rapidly. Spud web used to do that exercise without the whole air alert exercises.

how lame . you got 2 weeks? I'll start the 9th week tomorow, and I'm doing air alert with 2 kg legweights. I started doing it to gain mental strenth and even if it's hard I'm at least doing it. static stretching must be done AFTER the exercises, not before, (as said in vertical jump bible) also if you bend knees in thurst ups and burnouts you will develop wrong muscular memory and wont jump higher. And when you go down on calf raises you are suposed to do it slowly. But looks like you work hard, thats the most important thing

For weeks, my Ankle is swollen after I play ball or train with VJB plyo. Resting 1 week is not good enough. I planned to rest from and stayed away from VJB plyo or basketball for 2 weeks and see how things go.

@scoobychau um you should follow directions aa recommends for the user to jump on a soft surface not concrete man that's why u had problems with ure foot.

U are for example not suppose to do air alert on sement or asfalt.
Have at least 16 hours between each air alert, and get 8 hours sleep very night.
To have more strenght and lower the risk of muscle overuse. Its also important to eat plenty of proteins and calsium to strenghen your muscles.
