The man who prayed for stuff IMO represents 99.99% of the church people today. Heard TD Jakes once say that years back people came to him with prayer requests for loved ones & friends to get saved, now their prayer requests are for stuff. The other man, whom the church people viewed as not being worthy because he didn't get stuff IMO, is a minister of the Gospel, praying for others while confident that Father God will provide for his needs.

So true. Church family and friends prayed that my daughter wouldn't have to wait a year to get into Vanderbilt hospital, a one year wait her doctor's had told her. She received confirmation today for a 2/9/11 appointment. 3 weeks after being told it would take a year. Thank you Lord of Lords, King of Kings.

This makes more sense of how the man who seemingly had nothing could survive without the basic necessities of life.
