The creators of all these wonderful and highly educational cartoons should really be given some type nationally recognized honor! I'm sure most who grew up watching these can still remember most, if not all the words to them. I know I can. They should be part of the standard curriculum for all grade schoolers!
I grew up on School House Rock, and I have a 4.4 GPA and a 31 on my ACT. Along with Sesame Street and Blues Clues, I think the core of my knowledge comes from my parents and programs like SHR, which I am now passing down to my 7 year old sister.
man i love this stuff my mom use to show me this when i was a kids we got to the blockbuster to rent them lol she never took them back but it was ok they was cheap but every kids should know this stuff i mean it hurts to see kids dont know this shit at all they look at ya like wtf is this
I'm 44, and just starting to learn more about the rules of English, I love school house rock, I'M picking up more from SHR then I"m getting from my classes, and this song is wonderful !
I'm in 8th grade and this year when a teacher asked if anyone watched Schoolhouse Rock there were only 2 people, one being me, that raised their hand, ITS A CRIME!
As a kid i lived for this particular school house rock animation. it is the greatest. I still remember the feeling of elation when it came on and the deep empty sadness when it ended. The whole compostion of the lyrics, voice, and piano just blew me away (and still does to this day) It's a true gem!
This should be required learning to all young new parents.
Serious! It really peeves me about how many talk to their toddlers in the third person, seemingly scared to death of using PRONOUNS! "Let mommy help you" etc instead of "let ME help you." Now while we haven't made a genius out of our daughter by using pronouns all along, she learned quickly what we were talking about. Really! Pronouns are not scary and are safe to use on young children.
