I would suggest you concentrate on more concrete topics, like the subjugation of individual liberty in favor of the ideals of a common good, which has lead to the same mass murders you speak of. Hitler, Stalin, and Mao all acted in the name of what they thought was the greater good at the expense of individual liberty.
